Murder. Mayhem. Pie.

Welcome to Sunshine Springs, the idyllic wine country town where Isabelle "Izzy" James has moved to follow her dream of opening a pie shop that serves boozy pies. Everything is going according to plan, until a customer drops dead from poison right in front of her cafe.

That's not so good for business.

Izzy suddenly finds herself accused of murder, and she's in a race against time to find the true criminal. Luckily, she has her faithful dog Sprinkles at her side to help her sniff out clues. But the more clues Izzy discovers, the more she realizes that the secrets in this town go deeper than she ever thought possible.

Can this amateur sleuth find the murderer before she loses the pie shop she's worked so hard to open?

This is an easy-going story. It has a cute setting but a very predictable storyline and isn’t necessarily what I would call a page turner as far as mysteries go. As a dog lover and one who loves to bake, I find the lead character and setting relatable and enjoyable. The book was incredibly clean, which allowed me to have it on while my kids were in the room. All of that being said, I like a little more character development and depth to my mysteries. And that is why I only gave it three stars.

Fun and predictable

I can easily suspend some reality to enjoy some lighthearted fiction. But the idea that the entire plot takes place in the span of a week? Nope. It was pretty predictable but not awful. I don't plan to read the next in the series though. The narrator was fine but everything sounded the same. Not a lot of emotion

Very predictable

The story line was fun, somewhat predictable; at one point it became obvious who the murderer was. With that said, the story was still good. The characters were good and the plot twists were great. I would definitely listen to another book in the series if it were free, not sure that I would use a create on it.

Fun Story

Took a little not to get started, but it really became enjoyable and very inventive.

Enjoying New Series!

didn't love it, but it was somewhat engaging. I probably won't read it again like I do some of my audiobooks

sort of short

loved this cozy, although I did figure out "who done it " quite fast. still a good story!

I was pretty bored with it the entire time. It wasn't attention grabbing at all.

I wouldn't waste your money or credit.

Kind of story that you listed to one, you listened to them all. Different town, different people, but all the same. Nothing original or special. Woman got dumped (probably for being nosy), moved to a new town and opened a shop, solved a crime and of course, end up with the most eligible bachelor. So predictable and cheesy. Don’t waste your time and money

Mediocre

The only word I could think of offhand was silly, but that wasn’t exactly correct. Absurd doesn’t quite do it either.

Silly…..
