About this listen

Miranda Trent has set up a sweet life in a scenic corner of Appalachia - until she stumbles across the trail of a killer....

After inheriting her uncle's Red River Gorge homestead in Eastern Kentucky - smack dab in the middle of the Daniel Boone National Forest - Miranda comes up with a perfect business plan for summer tourists: pairing outdoor painting classes with sips of local moonshine, followed by a mouthwatering sampler of the best in southern cooking.

To Miranda's delight, Paint & Shine is a total success - until someone kills the cook. As the town's outsider, suspicion naturally falls on Miranda. Murdering the best biscuit baker of Red River Gorge is a high crime in these parts. Miranda will have to prove her innocence before she's moved from farmhouse to jail cell faster than she can say "white lightning".....

Great new cozy mystery series

Cozy mysteries are wonderful to listen to while completing chores. I was on a quest for a new series, and this one hit all the marks. Memorable small town characters, decent plot, a strong heroine, and a great narrator. The art angle is a fresh approach for the genre.
Please keep the series going!

Still knife painting

This is a great cozy mystery. This is the first book in this series. It's easy to follow and it makes sense. Miranda is trying to get her little business up and going and her cook gets killed. I liked the storyline. I stayed interested in this book from start to finish. I liked the side characters and it wasn't a lot of extra content in the book. Cortney Patterson does a great job narrating this book. If my review is any help will you please click on the helpful link below. Thank you.

Awesome story.

I really enjoyed the mystery and the information about distilleries. The story and narrator were very good. It's too bad that this is a limited series.
