About this listen

Serial entrepreneur and business visionary Dale Partridge reveals seven core beliefs that create success by putting people first.

Every day major headlines tell the story of a new and better American marketplace. Established corporations have begun reevaluating the quality of their products, the ethics of their supply chains, and how they can give back by donating portions of their profits to meaningful causes. Meanwhile millions of entrepreneurs who want a more responsible and compassionate marketplace have launched a new breed of socially focused business models.

Sevenly founder Dale Partridge uncovers the seven core beliefs shared by consumers, starters, and leaders behind this transformation. These beliefs have enabled Dale to build a multimillion-dollar company that is revolutionizing the marketplace. He believes they are the secret to creating a sustainable world that values honesty over deception, transparency over secrecy, authenticity over hype, and, ultimately, people over profit.

So inspired.

I'm not a millennial, I work for a corporation(a good one
, mentioned in the book) but I'm not self employed, I say NO to Facebook, and I haven't mastered social media.....but I am a leader & I am creative & I love to be inspired. I have a feeling I am not the typical demographic that follows Dale Partridge, since finishing his book I have told every person who will stand still for 30 seconds to listen to this book. I am committed to staying relevant in the marketplace as a leader and I believe People over Profit is going to be my personal handbook as I move forward and do so. I am so impressed by Dale and his candor. I hope he continues to do amazing things and I can't wait to listen all about it!

Succinct. Powerful. Very Helpful.

This is one of the best business books I've ever read. I'm so appreciative of the author considering my time and telling me the main points in around 3.5 hours. That 3.5 hours was some of the best material about how to run a business that I've ever heard. As an entrepreneur it is hard to know what to do when the industry standard goes against your ideas and beliefs. This book allows you to trust yourself and to realize that when you put people and quality first then everything else takes care of itself - and if it doesn't, you can still feel good because you didn't compromise.

A must read for any entrepreneur

This is a fantastic book and anyone looking to run a business should read it. It will also benefit any employee of a business. Ultimately it is about working towards a better future, but it also makes a great case for good business practices in general, in the sense that when we don't consider people over profit it's bad for business.

Great content, could have spoken a little slower

Great, concise content
Author could have spoken a little slower so that content could be absorbed a little bit more efficiently

Echos Popular Sentiment

What did you love best about People over Profit?

This book reiterates many publicized facts and opinions about companies that have either snowed the consumer,or have apologized, reinvented and ultimately redeemed themselves. To participate in a transparent economy , ones's success is measured by a degree product quality and care for the customer. Dale Partridge has given us a synopsis of examples that have worked in this regard; In this respect, his treatise has succeeded. He champions honesty and integrity in the workplace, but in it's effort to provide the reader with a balanced outlook, he lacks the necessary ingredient that would make me want to recommend this book wholeheartedly. That ingredient is humility.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

For starters, I would have someone else read the introduction.Since he has chosen to be the orator of the audible book; Reading to us the praises received from others about himself , and the company he founded sounds way to self-aggrandizing.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The shallow emphasis and haste with which the author/reader describes many of the guiding principles of this volume has left me uninspired. It is not good form to be making comparison references about the sterling values of one's own company, even if those values are shared by one's constituents .The effect sounds sanctimonious, which I sincerely doubt was the intention of the author.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

The same as the title

Any additional comments?

Looks forward to an updated version in five or ten years.

very inspirational & eye opening

I enjoyed the narration, easy to listen to! I nearly cried at the end. I can only hope every C-suite member of every organization will one day operate their companies on the same principles.

Great content!

Very good content and crisp narration. Ending was sad, hearing about the author's unfortunate experience, but it was very inspirational. 5/5!
