About this listen

Kane Easton isn’t friend material.
He’s a master manipulator.

No one understands why I give him such a hard time.
They can’t see past his flawless exterior, but I know he’s keeping a secret—
something he’ll protect with absolute ruthlessness.

He thinks I’ll fall in line with the rest of Xavier High.
Believes he can kiss me into submission.

He has no idea what he’s up against.

I may be the youngest Genovese, but I’ve learned from my family.
I’ll make Kane regret the day he ever crossed my path.

Perfect Enemies is the sixth and final book in The Five Families series but can be listened to as a standalone novel.

suspenseful

It was a real treat to get two love stories in one book. I was amazed as one layer of secrets after rhe other were revealed. Kane and Val were fire together, and I became completely and utterly engrossed in their story. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrators did a great job bringing the characters and story to life.

Perfect enemies

I loved this book! The narration was awesome! I loved the chemistry between Valentina and Cain. Val is kind hearted and tries her best to protect her friend Reyna . I would love a friendship like that. The relationship between Val and Cain was passionate and it started out rough in the end it was magical. Even Reyna got a hea.

Great mafia romance!!

Perfect Enemies, an Audiobook by Jill Ramsower is the story of Kane and Valentina. They’re both students at an elite, exclusive high school. He is drawn to her…but, also seems to be interested in her best friend. There’s a lot of back and forth in this story…as well as many secrets and shocking truths that come out throughout the book.

This Audiobook was narrated by Ava Erikson, Jacob Morgan, Gregory Salinas, and Melanie Mendez. They do a great job with the story and characters. First time I’ve listened to a story that has different narrators for each major character. Would have been fine with one narrator for the male characters and one for the female….but, it was a nice addition to the story! They all did a wonderful job!!

I am volunteering to leave a review for an Advance Reader Copy of this Audiobook.

Fantastic narrators.

The narrators, Ava Erickson, Jacob Morgan, Gregory Salinas, and Melanie Mendez did a wonderful performance. I listen at a 2.0 pace and I was able to distinguish their voices. Each of their performances were fantastic and they brought the characters voices to life.

I liked how there were multiple POVs in this story. I really liked Valentina and Kane storyline the best. We do follow Reyna’s story and while she’s a likable character there was some stuff that ruined it for me.
At one point Valentina called Reyna, “Rey”. That translate to King. Completely took me out of the book. Reyna’s love interest has a pet name, “princesa” - It just goes back to my heritage and parents particularly my father would call me that. So it just gave me weird vibes.
Overall it was an enjoyable listen. The characters are well developed and it had plenty of high school and mafia drama to keep me listening.

Love

This is my first book by Jill and I don't know why I waited so long. I love these types of books. The chemistry and the characters were off the chart and the story was very well told and kept my attention in the entire time. I am looking forward to discovering more books by Jill.

Excellent end to series ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Really enjoyed this one! I loved that we got two romances. This enemies to lovers tale was a well written slow burn and you will be fully invested in these characters. The author gave us 4 POV which added to the thrill factor of the story. This was a great listen  and I would highly recommend!!!!

I've Been Hooked

What a difference a year makes. I was getting my review ready for the audio version of this book when I find out that it’s only been just over a year since I actually read the book. This is a great example of a book that can be “read” more than once. I like having this book in more than one medium. I can pick up my e-reader if I want to be the one reading. Then I can pick up my iPod when I want someone else taking me into the world of The Five Families. And this has four narrators that made me very happy.

The narrators give voice to the author’s characters where when I read, the only thing I hear is my own voice. What was great about this book was that I didn’t feel that I had to read this series in order. But it also made me realize that this is a series to have in both mediums. Our author immersed me into a world that may be fictional but she made it very easy to believe that her characters could actually exist.

This story may be about Valentina and Kane but there is also another couple involved. Valentina also gets a surprise and you might think it will be the next book in this series. Well, I investigated for you and the surprise starts a new series, the Byrne Brothers. That book comes into the world next month. So I have time to continue my Five Families marathon. And if you like mafia romances then you may want to check it out for yourself.

I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

Last book in the series!

This is the sixth, and sadly the last book in The Five Families Series. I love this series! The story is different than the other books in the series. The storyline is original, with four POV's and two love stories in one book. The characters are interesting, and well developed. I loved Kane and Valentina together. Santino and Reyna are great side characters. This is a great enemies to lovers romance. Ava Erickson, Jacob Morgan, Gregory Salinas, and Melanie Mendez did an outstanding job with the narration. I enjoyed it.

3.5 STARS.. NOT MY GENRE BUT ENTERTAINING ENOUGH

YA School teen romances are not my ‘go to’ genre however, I’ve been all in with Jill Ramsower’s Five Families Mafia series since the very start, so I had just to finish the series off by listening to this sixth, and sadly final, book. And I’m happy to say that, in between the Class antics and teen emotions and insecurities, was a friction-filled, moth-to-a-flame, kryptonite attraction which both tried to resist and held intrigue, suspicion and a heap of angst. It’s much tamer than the previous books because Raynor is seventeen.. then eighteen brings one sex scene. Their chemistry and turbulent dynamics are strong but rejection and denial must be maintained.. because Kane’s life is complicated and riddled with secrets and intrigue.. and Val’s protective shield around her fragile friend Raynor is about to be severely tested. Who are friends and who are foe? And love is on the line but how far can it go?

Worth a credit? It wouldn’t normally appeal.. but yes to finish the series off. It had enough tension and intrigue, romance and secondary characters with entwined strings coursing through the storyline to keep me interested and invested. The mainly dual POV narration was excellent and you also get two secondary characters and their sub-plot POV’s too.
