About this listen

USA Today and #1 New York Times bestselling author Fern Michaels "never disappoints" (RT Book Reviews). In a heartfelt and engaging new novel, she weaves a story of second chances and determination, as an injured ex-athlete becomes the owner of a matchmaking business.

As far as former NFL star Jake Masters is concerned, dreams are risky propositions. Years ago he came achingly close to achieving his ambition of playing in the Super Bowl - before a spinal injury ended his career. Confined to a wheelchair, unwilling to take a chance on another risky surgery that could restore his mobility, Jake now stays cocooned behind the imposing gates of his lavish home.

But his twin sister, Beth, has no intention of letting him languish there forever. After years of flitting from one failed business idea to another, all fueled by Jake's generosity, she now owns a highly lucrative matchmaking service. And she's gifting the business to Jake - whether he likes it or not - while she follows her dreams of making it as a singer in Nashville.

Though Jake had plenty of women falling all over him at the peak of his success, he knows nothing about matchmaking. He's willing to try for his sister's sake, and it's soon clear that he needs an assistant. Enter Gracie Sweet, whose slender frame belies a take-no-charge toughness that would put any linebacker to shame. Grace begins by revamping the business and soon she's overhauling Jake's entire life - and to his huge surprise, Jake's enjoying it. But when their clients become victims of theft, Gracie and Jake must reconcile their very different outlooks if they're to have any chance of saving the business... and if Jake is to make another play for the life he thought he lost....

Ok Book - not her best but the narration killed it

What did you like best about Perfect Match? What did you like least?

Cute Story

Would you recommend Perfect Match to your friends? Why or why not?

No, the narration was horrible

Would you be willing to try another one of Emily Foster’s performances?

No.... all voices sound the same and it sounded as if she was just reading from the pages instead of telling the story from all the different charters like so many do so well.

Did Perfect Match inspire you to do anything?

tuff love can be good

not very good

The writing is sophomoric at best. the storyline is hollow and lacks emotion.
The narration is distracting since there is very little modulation of tone between characters; male and female characters all sound the same.

ok

I had a problem time with the narrators; they made it hard to listen in how they read the story it sounded like a cartoon reading.

IT’S A HIT! Loving, Sacrifices, & Suspense in Nashville’s Music Industry

This book is a hi! Loving Sacrifices, & Suspense in one woman’s climb in the Nashville’s Music Industry! ...Author Fern Michaels weaves the tale of Beth Masterson, who moved to reach for the top of the charts in Nashville’s music industry. All the while, she’s reaching for the stars in the lives of her heartfelt loves. Among Beth’s loves? A damaged former Marine with a four star voice; a pro football star brother, turned into a reclusive wheelchair captive after a Super Bowl tragedy; and her own multimillion dollar matchmaking business designed to bring matches to all those who could not find love matches on their own. Add in a ruthless stalker, a grieving best girlfriend with her uncanny retired military dog - a battlefield hero 🦸‍♀️ n his own right...and you get a novel that reads like a smooth country song. Readers will undoubtedly, like me, label “Perfect Match” a real life chart topper!

Cute story.

A bit predictable A pretty cute book and a fast read; I think it’s a book you can easily finish in a weekend.
There’s maybe a word or two used that I would never use but I am probably am not the norm.I was thinking and hoping that this author’s writing would be more along the writing style of Karen Kingsbury and Even though it wasn’t, it is still a pretty clean book.
I think 140lbs might be to heavy for a war dog, he is believable and as smart as any, well trained GSD should be.
