About this listen

Sean Phillips is a sexy as sin enigma. Cocky. Promiscuous. The New York Mavericks star wide receiver. His quick moves and sure hands extend way past the lines of the football field - and into the bedroom. Sure of himself and sure of his life, Sean's convinced he can handle anything. But when beautiful, pint-sized Six Malone delivers a challenge he's never faced before, his certainty starts to waver.

Six Malone is a force to be reckoned with. Feisty. Hilarious. The popular YouCam vlogger Pick Six. The chance to work with the Mavericks on an eight-episode vlog series is the opportunity of a lifetime, and Six knows it. But after an interesting first encounter turns into a head-to-head battle with cocky football star Sean Phillips, her attention shifts - to keeping herself from falling in love. Too bad spending time with the team is part of the job, and Sean has a flawless track record...of getting what he wants.

Pick Six: A term used when a quarterback throws an interception and a defensive player returns it for a touchdown, resulting in six points.

Pick(ing) Six: When a man-wh*ring baller meets his match.

Sean is a football player for the Mavericks. He is also an arrogant womanizer, thinking all women will fall at his feet.
Six is a blogger who was hired by the Mavericks to feature them on her show. On her first day on the job she over heard the football players talking smack about her. That is when she figured she would put Sean in his place but not let his ego get any bigger.
I have loved all of Max Monroe books that I have read and this one is not different. I love how Six puts Sean in his place multiple times. The banter Sean and Six have back and forth was amazing and Six knew how to handle herself among all the men not only in her life but on the team.

Great book

The story is hilarious and the voices are great! Really enjoyed them but halfway through finding out that the main characters are POC was wild. There’s some amazingly talented POC voices and I was a bit disappointed that they weren’t utilized. They would’ve brought an extra layer to the story that would’ve made this perfect.

Great writing…but

I liked how a character that was mentioned briefly in a former book was highlighted and brought more closure to Max Monroe's collection of books.

Another fantastic football love story.

Oh my oh my. Never disappoints. One of the best I’ve listened to. Easy to listen when narrator voices are great!

One of the best !

Oh my gosh, Six is a love it or hate it kind of character, and I LOVE her! Such a fun read.

Best character!

I love a fiesty FMC that doesn’t immediately swoon and drop her panties for the MMC. Even though Six fell first, she made Sean work for it and that made his realization he was in love with her all the more heartfelt. I loved this couple!

I’d pick six too!

I love so much about this book, most of which is covered in all these other great reviews, but I hate that they keep calling it the championship game. Nobody calls it that. There's playoffs and Superbowl. It just bothers me for basically no reason hahaha.

Just call it a Superbowl

Loved the main characters. Ohh the love, the angst, the jelly feels. The come back was spot on. All the feels!!! Made me have some nostalgia with high school sports romance - you were the girl that fell for the football jock- you know what I mean. Ahhh dreamy male character vibe.

Another read down in this series by Max Monroe and this book was awesome!

I really paused several times, during this book, to wonder if it was possible that the author based her Heroine, on a real person. Six, the Heroine, was The quirkiest character I’d ever been exposed to. Her interior monologues had me busting out with laughter while my family stared at me as if I had fallen off the deep end. I’m normally a more subdued, middle aged gal who expressed my humor with a quiet chuckle; not this time. The Heroine spent so much of the book, cutting the over cocky Hero, to his knees, that I started to feel sorry for the poor guy.

The theme of this book was definitely,”all poor past decisions will come back to haunt you!” The Hero had a definite, “man-whore” reputation, and although he played it off like it didn’t bother him, his internal monologue exposed his inner truth. For the first time in his life, he had more then a passing interest, in a woman, and she was too ashamed to let anyone know if their involvement due to the shame his reputation would bring her. Although, on the outside,Shawn, the Hero, laughed her concerns off, internally, he felt regret and shame, over his past actions. His past casual, non-emotional approach to his interactions with women, made the first real female interest he’s ever had, choose to hide their involvement to avoid being categorized as another stupid woman who had fallen for his man-whore charm; it was definitely a kick in the nuts, for him.

Finally, a drunken night of video blogging, let’s their secret out and exposes the true feelings involved in their relationship.

There are lots of funny times, some heartbreak with a dish of angst and, finally, a HEA is achieved after a grand gesture by the Hero.

Normally, I would never spend a credit on a book this short but, I love football, I loved book one and I found Shawn intriguing in said book, therefore, I made an exception.
