This books starts off very raw from the very start and never looks back. I was hooked from the opening and listened to it in almost one sitting. I love that the book goes back and forth in time to give the reader/listener the back story while not revealing everything at once. This is my first book by this author and it will not be my last.

I liked that the author didn't just write the 2 main characters she also used the subcharacters in the book too so we got a little insight into them too. It brought even more depth into the story.

I highly recommend this book to anyone, it isn't too raw but it does touch on some darker subjects such as violence, murder, rape, etc so it isn't for everyone but it's not as dark as other books. It's a great book and I would listen to it again.

I was gifted this audio ARC for a honest and unbiased review from the author/narrator.
Teresa Mummert wrote a very confusing book. The story went back in the past then to the present, while doing this it left me confused. I think it somehow wasn't a book for audio. Just saying.
Sarah Puckett narrated this book but I feel that there wasn't enough emotions for the book.
I'm sorry to say this is one book I didn't care for but will try another by author and narrator at another time.

The story was HEA so I don't see a reason for a 2nd book.

Overall the book was OK the plot was good, just needed more.

The story was ok, made me want to punch that Colin in the face. Worst part was the narrator though. Sounded like it was her first time reading a book.

The story is intriguing but I found it hard to keep up as it went back and forth between present & past. Perhaps it would have been easier to follow in a book format versus audiobook.

There are some pretty abusive descriptions. It can be quite disturbing specially because all my favorite dark romances do not have the "hero" continue to sleep around and act abusive towards the "heroine" and other females throughout the book.

The narration was ok. It was more like a reading than heartfelt & emotional. The narrator did not immerse herself in the characters. It sounded a bit monotone to me.

The story had potential but the hopping around made it confusing. I did not understand her relationship with Jake. He seemed important at first but not so much towards the end. He was a peculiar character anyways.

They were part of a cult and were able to scape and find a wealthy lawyer to help them. They pretended to be a family to blend in. Annie and Colin would tell everyone they are brother & sister. The leader of the cult Taylor is pretty sick. There are some unexpected twists towards the end.

The story did not flow as well as I had expected it. And the conclusion did not really leave a happy feeling in the pit of my stomach. It was intended to be a HEA... You will need to read it to understand.

The story goes back and forth so many times , it's a bit hard to keep on track, the story should be read, not listened to. So I'll give it another try.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

The narration was ok. She has a good pace but I didn't care for how monotone it sounded to me. I like to hear some emotion in a narrators voice.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, its not one I could listen to in one setting. I was confused alot listening to this book and would have to stop to take things in.

Pretty Little Things was an interesting and enjoyable listen with a unique storyline. I was immediately drawn in to the story, although I wasn't really sure where it was going at first. As it progressed things became much clearer, although the back and forth between past and present was confusing at times. This was not a "rainbows and unicorns" kind of romance and there were some pretty dark aspects to the story, with an unexpected twist at the end. The narrator did a good job with the characters.

Overall I really liked Pretty Little Things but it did require a little concentration to keep everything straight. I would recommend this.

The story is intriguing and I found I wanted to like it, but found it hard to keep up as it went back and forth between present & past. I also feel as if it didn't really clear things up. It gives you bits and pieces of their past, but not enough to fill in all the gaps.
It jumps around so much I found my self confused.
other then that, I think it could of been an amazing story.
