About this listen

She’s cold, calculating, and can deceive with a smile. Jane Doe is back in the Amazon Charts bestselling series - and this time she’s met her match.

After a brutal childhood, Jane Doe has been permanently wired to look after herself and only herself. Now, looking next to normal, Jane has a lover and a job. But she hasn’t lost her edge. It sharpens when she hears from her estranged family.

Jane’s deeply troubled 16-year-old niece, Kayla, has vanished, and no one seems to care. Neither does Jane. Until she sees a picture of Kayla and recognizes herself in the young girl’s eyes. It’s the empty stare of a sociopath.

Jane knows what vengeful and desperate things Kayla is capable of. Only Jane can help her - by being drawn into Kayla’s dark world. And no one’s more aware than Jane just how dangerous that can be.

This sure isn’t up to Jane Doe standards

Ok I loved Jane Doe. I’ve listened to it 3 times and I’ve only done that with maybe 2 other books. Problem Child was ok. It had promise but after Jane heads to Oklahoma it goes downhill. The relationship with the niece wasn’t very chapter worthy and quite dull. Why the author chooses to write so much about food is baffling, steak seasoning, ravioli, twice baked potatoes, Sonic drive ins, on and on. The actor was excellent as usual. I’ll will always search for new books by this author but switching Jane into a family dynamic is boring, though I love Luke. It ruins the chill factor of Jane.

Not as good as the first but still good

This story was not as good as the first book but I enjoyed being in Jane’s world again. Her inner dialogue is hilarious and her revenge plots very satisfying.

Man, you don't want to piss Jane off.
The world needs more Janes.
Was I suppose to laugh while listening to this book?

Guilty Pleasure

I wasn't quite as engaged with the main character in this story as I was in the first book BUT it was still a delicious read. I am hoping that the writer continues the series and stays true to the initial character development. Enjoyable.

Doesn't approach the greatness of 'Jane Doe'

Jane Doe had empathy (yes, high functioning sociopaths possess empathy). We could relate to her grief and desire for revenge. The sarcasm was hilarious. Here the humor falls flat. The protagonist just seems to enjoy enticing then torturing random men she *knows* are total jerks or criminals. The mind games with Luke - the most important person in her life - are just sad. Some reviewers here don't differentiate between sociopaths and psychopaths. Google please. The difference (and cause) is significant. High functioning is also significant. Idk, but the neice seems to fit the definition of psychopath. The kid seems to feel nothing for anyone but herself.

SMOOTH LISTENING

I love the story line, I think Nicole has become my favorite narrator. The tone used makes it enjoyable to listen to. I even cracked quite a few laughs. Hope there's a sequel!

Explains Trump's behavior

Gives you insight on how the mind of a psychopath actually works, all in the form of a really interesting story. If you enjoyed reading You, you'll like this .

Not as good as the 1st in Series

I was really excited about this book but was disappointed. it took a few hours of describing she was a sociopath before it got to much content about her niece. I felt like the other got into the storyline much quicker and this one repeated itself to make sure we knew what she was over and over. I will probably try one more in this series when it comes out and hope it follows the 1st in the series with more action and less repetition.

Another Amazing Book!

Victoria Helen Stone is a superb writer! This book did not disappoint! I loved Jane Doe and this sequel was just as great. A sociopaths voice isn't often portrayed in books and wow, she did wonderfully representing one. I hope I can look forward to more from Jane and Kayla and their adventures!
