A great voice really brings a story to life

Would you consider the audio edition of Prodigal to be better than the print version?

Yes - I like both versions but reading can be fatiguing on older eyes, so to listen to it and be able to hear the tension and excitement in the characters' voices really makes it very enjoyable. I was able to feel and connect more with the characters :-)

What did you like best about this story?

How it starts out in a quiet fashion, then the tension keeps building up more and more. You can't wait to listen to the next chapter to find out what happens next! It really keeps you hanging onto your seat! A real modern age horror/suspense story!

What about Christine Padovan’s performance did you like?

She has a soothing, almost hypnotic quality as the narrator, then changes her tones to fit the different characters so well. I like how she captured the selfish feelings of the children, especially the main character, Lucy.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes, but to mention it would spoil the story! ;-)

Any additional comments?

It's about time this author's first novel was put into an audio version!

Not for Me - Adolescent Drama + Child Molestation

Listening to the bratty adolescent drama is exhausting. If I hear "I hate you" one more time...
SPOILER ALERT/ WARNING: Child molestation ... and the author portrays the very young girl as being complicit. Very sick book
