I loved that the whole of the book was during their marriage. I didn't like Jane's attitude towards E. I do like that Bingley didn't end up with Jane due to her change in character and who would want to live with Caroline as a sister.
I understood the role Georgiana had to play but I didn't like what happened to her in the end.
The narrator was okay to listen to but many times you couldn't tell who was speaking.
I like it when a narrator has different inflection in for each character.
This is a good variation.

I enjoyed this variation of P&P

This is an all time favorite. I can’t begin to convey how much I love this book. Darcy rescues Elizabeth from being stranded by the roadside in the pouring rain She’s running away from despicable circumstances at home. Darcy and Elizabeth talk in the carriage and she learns the truth about Wickham. She falls ill. They are stranded at an inn because of the rain. Another rescue by Darcy nursing her back to health. He proposes marriage. She accepts. The rest is surprise after surprise as they deal with family. But the romance and love is all.

Highly recommended.

I listen to this at least twice a year

Don't get me wrong, the story itself is really wonderful, it's just a little blah and lacking some things that could have made it exceptional, maybe I'm judging too harshly, I've listened to SO many PP variations that I might be a little biased.

What I liked - the development of ODC's relationship is lovely and very honest. Their love and devotion to one another was heart warming, the book is really long and thorough, the longer the better for me. The story flows really well.

What I wasn't a fan of - there are way too many graphic sex scenes (I don't mind them at all if I'm searching for that type of book, but I do not like them in my PP variations). The dialogue is very, very bland, there is no witty repartee between ODC or Darcy & Col. FW or anyone, honestly that is the one thing I cherish above everything in this genre. The only characteristic that Elizabeth in this story has in common with other stories or canon is that she is kind and intelligent - in this story she is not particularly witty, or playful, or lively. She's just nice and pretty. I also did not like that almost every single character in this story was a villain - the only exceptions being E, D, Col FW & the Gardners. everyone else was portrayed in a poor light. And lastly, the reader did a decent job, but she also was a little bland. It wasn't a bad performance, but it wasn't one I would want to listen to again and again like others I've listened to. It was just a little blah.

So, if like me you've accumulated ALL of the other PP variations and are digging deep to find another, this book is decent. If you have not listened to many so far, there are far more excellent choices out there.

Great Story, execution is a little bland.

I loved this book, which I’ve read multiple times and looked forward to an audiobook. The performance of Alexandra Lee Smith is very good. On the technical end, there is some audio noise between chapters or long pauses which is a bit off putting.

A JAFF Favourite

Is this story showed a side Of Mr. Bennett And Georgianna Darcy But I have yet to see Or even Jane for that matter. I loved the story line and how they got together But waiting to see what Georgiana would do kept me on the edge of my seat. I did not have a problem with the narrator at all I actually found it soothing. I highly recommend this

Surprised but loved it

In a downpour Darcy saves Elizabeth as she flees her home from an unwanted marriage. What happens after makes to couple stronger as they deal with their families and their problems.
The narrator was great. The story came to life. I hope there are more of the authors books in audible form.

I like variations in content as well as conversations Such as the marriage proposal and the carriage scene. Try other situations.

This was a wonderful variation with interesting changes to the story. Elizabeth and Darcy were both great characters. Jane and Georgiana were very different. I liked some of the new characters added to the story. This had everything anyone could want in a story.

Wonderful Variation

When I listen to JAFF (or the original P&P) those with the G or even PG rating of the original have me picturing Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy, while PG-13+ or even R rated stories have me picturing Matthew McFadden walking through a morning misty field field toward Keira Knightly (sigh!). This one is a Matthew book!!

It’s a very good tale, with a good twist, so it is just a SHAME that the recording is so very poor. When writing this review, I remember that more than the story.

Full disclosure, I prefer Stevie Zimmerman (check any of my other reviews), but I enjoy other narrators as well. This narrator may have been less distracting if I couldn’t hear so much background noise. Aside from occasionally hearing swallowing or hungry stomach sounds, there was an occasional buzz that sounded like it was recorded near a small regional airfield with small single engine planes landing. Once I even heard a dog barking.

Come on Audible!!!!

Needs to be Re-recorded but……
