About this listen

Two hundred years after the Raintree clan defeated and abandoned them on a small Caribbean Island, the Ansara wizards are rising again to take on their bitterest foes. Despite their extraordinary powers and supernatural origin, the Raintree have largely blended into the modern world. They are bankers, cops, husbands, wives, and lovers in the society of humankind. But now, from Nevada to North Carolina, the rejoined battle will measure the endurance of their people. It will test their loyalties and relationships. And it will force them all into new lives they could barely have imagined before.©2007 Linda Howard (P)2007 Audible, Inc.

unexpectedly good

Usually enjoy Linda Howard as an author, but wasn't sure about paranormal. Turned out to be a great listen - Looking forward to more like it! Great narration!

Don’t like Teaser!

I do not like books that continue like soap operas or television. This was a total tease. A set up to force you to read the next three books of the series! A let down to Linda Howard fans!

One of my favorite trilogies

This Trilogy was super clever. 3 books, 3 authors. A good read and a good listen.

Half a Book

I've read many books (and listened to them too) that had no conclusive ending and it doesn't generally bother me, but this one cuts off so abruptly that I had to check to make sure I wasn't missing a file. It is LITERALLY only 1/2 a book. So if you can put up with that, the story is not bad. It's a little too heavy on the romance novel kind of genre and there are a lot of explanations on the "powers" that I THOUGHT they were leading up to (but never go into in depth), but it's fairly interesting. Not a heavy read, so if you're looking for a little escapism and don't mind that it is predictable, then go ahead. I do still feel gyped because they didn't publish the whole story...a blatant attempt to sell two books instead of one.

Great story

I loved the "Raintree" trilogy! Although the female voice in "Inferno" was anoying and grating on the senses. The story was great if you can get around the female voice.

Good story

I really enjoyed this book. I didn't give it a 5 star because I wish that it had been a little longer and that it hadn't ended quite so quickly. I really liked it and can't wait to listen to the next book on the series.

What made the experience of listening to Raintree the most enjoyable?

The male narrator was enjoyable, the story was engaging.

Would you ever listen to anything by Linda Howard again?

Yes, I would.

Any additional comments?

No ending

Would you try another book from Linda Howard and/or Hillary Huber and Stefan Rudnicki ?

yes

What was most disappointing about Linda Howard???s story?

Abrubt ending..seemed to be in the middle of the story. Then - "poof". THE END.

What aspect of Hillary Huber and Stefan Rudnicki ???s performance would you have changed?

Finish telling the story

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

no

Any additional comments?

It ended so strangely that I thought I had not downloaded all of the parts. Just couldn't believe it!

Confused

Ok this is a series with a different author and narrators for each of the 4 books? What’s going on here?! As for book 1. I found it interesting and entertaining so far. I have about 1hr left so I’ve read it will end abruptly. It took a while for me to get used to the female narrator. When she does the voice of the female main character she sounds like a woman over 40 with a heavy smoking habit who waitresses in a hole in the wall diner. She just sounds soooo unattractive. How old is she supposed to be anyway? I totally missed that. And When she’s narrating her voice is more pleasant so I have no idea why she decided to voice the character this way. Now I’m totally confused about the next 3 books. Any explanation why it’s all different authors? Audible escape books are usually bottom of the barrel and takes a while to find something good. I usually borrow 5 at a time and end up returning 4 after trying out a few chapters. Plus doesn’t it suck that you have like 5k books in your search and have to start out at page 1 each time?! They should have it numbered where you’re able to pick out a search point. I’m prob gonna stop audible escape soon.

Good Escapism

This is the type book you listen to just to relax and be entertained. I am looking forward to the other two in series.
