Fun quick read

The story of Poppy and Ophelia is a fun quick read. I love how they play off each other, it’s a perfect match for a late summer read. Ready for book 3.

Ophelia and Fiona Steal the Show

In books 1 and 2 Ophelia and Fiona are the characters to watch. Poppy is okay. Second book is better. Look forward to book 3.

Better than the first

Jasmine Webb has created a great second book in her Poppy Perkins Mystery se. All the characters from the first book are present. I’m looking forward to the next in series.
Khristine Hvam, as always, gave an outstanding performance as she breathed life into the storyline and gave each character their own distinct voice.
I highly recommend this book/audiobook to cozy mystery fans.

Smart prose good characters

Sassy prose and good characters make up for a somewhat thin plot. Fun book with excellent narrator

A lot of potential

I like the characters in general. Good narrator! Good dialogue. Some really solid potential. There are, however, some real obstacles. Not all policemen are bumbling, power hungry, inept egomaniacs. Lock picking isn't quite so easy. The climax was SO rushed. And the main character's writing? It fell off completely before the end. The Juliet arc is waaay too drawn out, with no satisfaction. To dedicate her book to the dead editor is ridiculous. The AGENT from the first book believed in Poppy, not the "met one time" editor.
This book leaves a feeling of dissatisfaction.
It's kind of like you were eating while not paying attention. Suddenly, you are finished, and you thought that there were a few bites left. An unfulfilled emotion. Just like how I felt at the end of this book.

A Dumpster? Seriously?

in a story involving book writing and editing the villain is saved by a perfectly placed dumpster, breaking a 4 story fall. yeah, that dog don't hunt
