About this listen

A wound to the heart, a hole so deep.

Can it be fixed? Or simply replaced? People lie. Those closest to me, tell the most lies.

Do they not know who I am? What I'm capable of?

Sometimes I wonder if they do. Because when I unravel their lies, they will be delivered to the hell I once visited. And it won't be pleasant.

There was so much drama and angst in the first book, I didn't know there could be more in the second book. Black doesn't know who he is, the people who care for him think he is dead. The things that go through his head sometimes makes me shiver. Can someone be so dark? I'm hooked and have to read the next book to know what his happening next. The author loves to leave you on a cliffhanger.

Black is so dark, but I love him

I love dark, sexy stories and this series does not disappoint. It continues Black and Rose's story. The two narrators are excellent. I would like to know where all the bodies have been hidden.

(Black & Rose): TRIGGERS: kidnapping, assault, torture, drugging. I do not recommend reading this book without reading "Black" first. I also do not recommend reading if there's a considerable amount of time since reading the first book. I read the first book about a year ago and it took me a while to figure out what was going on again. 🤦🏾‍♀️ That being said, this book is DARK. IT'S NOT A HAPPY BOOK. Black is now living with an MC and dating the president's daughter. He has no memory of the last five years. While on a job for THE MC he runs into someone who clearly knows him, but who he doesn't know. He's given a card that tells him that he knows things. At an event he sees Rose, he doesn't remember her but feels like she means something. The book becomes a constant back and forth between the MC and these "new" people, his present and his past. Slowly the author begins to unravel what happened in the first book and how they ended up where they are now. There's violence, betrayal, lies, mystery, and hot sex. Not many moments of laughter but when you find them, they're like pieces of treasure. The book ends on a cliffhanger for the next book.

it's a deep dive into darkness.

Would you listen to Red again? Why?
Yes, I would! Since I love the combination of gritty and passion in the storyline!

What other books might you compare Red to and why?
Black! It's the follow-up!

What about Cat Gould and P. J. Ochlan ’s performance did you like?
The narration was perfection!

Who was the most memorable character of Red and why?
Black!! It's always Black! The Grim Reaper!!!

Any additional comments?

For the love of almighty!!!
I have been waiting for “Red” to come out!!
Now that it's out! I was totally blown away by it.
Hell, I was drawn in from the get-go.
Yes, it was painful at times. I was devastated the way Black ended!! So when I started to read Red it takes place 5 years later.
Aww, my heart hurt so much!!! To see what Rose and Black had to go through. Would just about kill anyone!! Such an emotional read. Yet at the same time, it was brilliant!!!! But was that a cliffhanger? GRRRRR

HOLY HECK!!!!

I’m in that phase where I’m ready for something more than the HEA formulaic romance story.

Black (book one) and Red (book two) have been just what I needed to kickstart my interest. The story is dark, tragic, and violent - all of which are balanced by the hope for redemption and romance.

You will cry - there is angst and loss.

You’ll also cave in and root for a bad guy - it’ll be impossible to resist.

More than just romance...

This book had some hilarious scenes towards the end. Still has a dark side of MC life that is not pretty and makes biker gang criminals. all in all an easier book to get through than bk 1. looking forward to bk 3 and hope Jake gets someone to love as well. At least I hope Jake lives to be rescued. have to get no 3 to know.

Cliffhanger warning.

This book was good but not as good as #1. Black is such a great character and the author keeps him true to his dark nature. The parts with him interacting with the kids is hilarious. It dragged a little and their were some over the top sappy dialogue. But it is a romance after all 😉
Overall great read.
