The dictator must die and, with new levels and skills, our heroes might actually stand a chance.
They've braved the land beyond the walls and faced nightmarish Threshers and Reaper mechs. Marisol has reached new levels and unlocked blood enhancements, and Elias has found a power that might prove to be instrumental in the final battle. On top of all that, the pair possess something they’ve never had before: allies and weapons.
There's only one way forward, however, and that path lies through destroying the dictator of New Chicago. The duo must use everything at their disposal in what’s sure to be a suicide mission, a return to the city to end Longman’s reign once and for all.
But Longman won’t go quietly, and he’s got an ancient weapon to back him up, one that’s capable of destroying the world.

I need to start this one off with some applause to the cover artist of Requiem. This one is a gorgeous cover and definitely grabbed my attention right away. I basically needed to read this book (on top of it being the third book in a series I’ve enjoyed). [slow clap]
But, with all seriousness, this was one of those books that I had to continue listening to. I started it and just kept listening to it when all of a sudden it was over. I ended up finishing this in two sittings over a 24 hour period and it made for some great listening.
By now, I’m familiar with the story and the characters, but in book three there’s enough of a change to feel fresh without throwing the entire old story out. Sloan and Mahaffey do a great job mixing in the old with the new while also progressing the story in a neat and interesting way. Each book I consequently forget about the mixing of the LitRPG world and the non until someone talks about leveling up. The ability to just randomly add speed or luck would be awesome and they throw those moments in just enough to not let you forget it.
I also have to admit that I love Gary Bennett’s narration of these stories. He really takes the action up another notch turning scenes that were heart pounding into full-fledged edge of your seat listening moments.
Overall, a great book, and honestly I think this book had the most action of the entire series (which is a lot since the others ones had a lot of action as well). If you’ve been reading along so far you’ll definite enjoy it. If this series is new to you, start with book one, it won’t take you long to get caught up!
An Excellent Addition
