About this listen

In the second e-novella in Molly Harper’s Bluegrass series of contemporary romances, two people determined to fulfill their own agendas come head to head—and find love in the process.

Kentucky Tourism Commission employee Bonnie Turkle is up Mud Creek without a paddle. When she gets permission from the state historical society to restore McBride’s Music Hall in Mud Creek, Kentucky, to its former glory, she thinks the community will welcome her with open arms. Instead, her plans interfere with a proposal to sell the property to a factory that would bring much-needed jobs to the town.

Even though Bonnie is trying to preserve mayor Will McBride’s family heritage, he is more concerned with the welfare of his people than memories of the past. Will finds her optimistic sentimentality extremely annoying—but that doesn’t stop him from kissing Bonnie senseless.

With an inspection deadline looming and local saboteurs ruining her restoration, Bonnie must find a way to compromise with Will to save McBride’s and the town…while hopefully winning a few more kisses in the process!

If you're like me and are already a Molly Harper fan, rest assured that this book will not disappoint. If you're not familiar with her work, my guess is that this book will serve as an excellent introduction to her writing. This novel is full of laugh-out-loud humor and witty conversations between the various characters. It doesn't take long to see the rising chemistry between Bonnie and Will. And the interactions Bonnie has with Mud Creek's uniquely funny cast of characters certainly adds something special into the mix.

Amanda Ronconi serves as an excellent narrator. In my opinion, this type of book is what she does best. Her delivery of the characters' lines are always spot-on, and she does a great job in giving each character its own voice.

Brief remarks:

My I just beginny saying, I think Amanda Ronconi is one of, if not THE, BEST narrators in the business?! I buy books because she is reading them, at times!

As this story opens with our female "lead" and a car fire, I was already worried about boredom setting in. I am NOT a history fan. AT. ALL. In ANY way shape form it format. I admit this because the basic premise if this story is built upon restoring some significant music history in a super small Kentucky town . I started my yawn only to be interrupted by the hot save-the-lady "lead" dude. Hello, "trademark panty dropping smiles". *fist pump*! Does Ms. Harper know her readers, or what?! Lol

Seriously, I recommend sticking with the story as it gets interesting and has a really good twist to look forward to.

Light, uncomplicated, humorous at times & fun Molly Harper reading (listening)! She's sleaus worth my time ;)

Enjoy, fellow reader!

Cheers!

If you like Hallmark movies, you will love this story! I do love Hallmark, so I found the story to be charming and funny, and totally satisfied my sweet tooth. The characters were well developed, and the story was perfectly narrated.

A wonderful Hallmark – taste novel

Would you listen to Rhythm and Bluegrass again? Why?

yes...very enjoyable story

Any additional comments?

The ONLY problem with this audio recording is that Amanda Ronconi has only one voice that she uses for all her main characters. Having just listened to "My Bluegrass Baby", I was utterly confused to hear the voice of Saddie now be Bonnie. The Molly Harper/Amanda Ronconi books are great on their own...yet they appear to be the exact same character when Amanda reads them.

too many Amanda Ronconi recordings!!!

I usually listen to mystery suspense thrillers heavy kinds of books and I wanted a change so I listened to Molly Harper's bluegrass series. I found it witty fun and would recommend it to anyone who wants to kind of cleanse their listening palate; a change of pace for just a little bit before getting back to your normal type of listening

Fun Listen
