Good One

Not too many books keep me interested these days but this one did. Finally, for once I did not predict several outcomes. This was a great 1st book to what I assume will be a series - since its labeled book 1 - I just hope the next one will be just as good if not better.

I loved Riding the storm. Daredevils Rescue Series, Book one. OK. What's not to like. Strong, sexy woman sweeping in to rescue strong sexy woman. Need I say more. Trust me, you'll love it.

The premise was really good...not great but good

I enjoyed the story, but it was extremely predictable. The plot was fun but if you have any kind of law enforcement or military background prepare yourself to cringe and grit your teeth at the obvious errors. The narrator refers to M.I.6. as M16, there is a huge difference between the British Intelligence Agency and an American Military Cold War Era rifle.

The chances of a military senior officer or the military in general using a stunt company for clandestine operations isn't even conceivable. It would have been more believable if the company was made up of former military acting at the request of a special joint military/civilian task force.

The narrator spells out the acronym R.I.C.C.O. instead of calling it by the better known name ricco. As a former law enforcement user this just gnaws at my brain after the third or fourth time.

Um, I am not sure if the writer, the editor or the proof reader is at fault in the use of verb tenses. Knelt is the grammatically correct past tense of kneel, though kneeled is acceptable. The English language is from England and in England the correct word would be knelt. We here in the US tend to butcher the english language, but since these stories are often read by fans outside of the US, it would be nice to present a grammatical correct face. But this particular item is more a pet peeve, than an error but My mother, an English teacher of 40+ years, would be spinning in her grave if this was one of her English students.

The narrator has the primary character sounding childlike, which would be alright if the character was a child not an "experienced" adult stunt woman. I would have expected her to sound more worldly wise, more an adult than a teenage kid, while the romantic interest sounds like a 30 something woman of the world.

I am not trying to dump on the book, I do like it, I just think it could be so much better. Don't get me wrong. I love the works of Erin Wade, it us just that this is not up to her usual standards.

Wow, no

I’m all for suspending reality for good fiction, but this was just not. The most implausible and cliche circumstances, redundant dialogue (a lot of which was mispronounced by the narrator), there was really nothing to make this worth the credit.
