Publisher's summary

You don't have to listen to the Consequences series to enjoy this stand-alone novel, but if you know Tony Rawlings, you know that disappointing him isn't an option. Imagine being his youngest daughter. Imagine telling him the unimaginable....

"Those who don't know history are doomed to repeat it."

Sometimes ideas find you, and dreams begin as nightmares. Sometimes the truth that has been kept hidden is the key to opening a door you never knew existed.

"You might not know me. I'm the baby of the Rawlings family, the princess, the daughter who came along later. I'm not like my older siblings, successful at everything they touch. My mother and father have provided me with every luxury as well as their unyielding love and support, but I'm not spoiled. I'm also not content. By example, my parents have shown me how love should be. I don't know their past, and that doesn't matter. I know what I've seen - two people devoted to one another.

I don't believe that I'll ever find that kind of love, the kind that forgives and accepts all. And as my life falls to pieces and I travel to visit my family to face their disappointment, I'm not even looking for it.

I'm looking for an escape...from my life as a Rawlings...from the pressure to achieve and not let others down. I dream of the time I can live for my own desires without the expectations that come with my name.

I don't find what I'm seeking...it finds me. Or should I say...he finds me.

This time is different. I have a family who will search for me and find the answers. Little do we know - any of us - that my father set my journey into motion long before I was born."

"Just as ripples spread out when a single pebble is dropped into water, the actions of individuals can have far-reaching effects." ~Dalai Lama

Please enjoy this Consequences novel along with special appearances from your favorite Consequences characters.

Those who don't know history, are doomed to repeat

WOW!! Just wow!!
I'm in awe with how twisted this story was. This story is dark and addictive and enticing and I loved it. It has all the elements I don't like in dark romance but the story line kept me stick to my headphones late last night and at work today because I needed to know what was going to happen with Natalie and Dexter.
The narrators Kylie and Eric did a great job but the mix of female and male voices was a bit forced for me. When she was reading it felt natural, so as when he was reading, but when they made the interventions to speak of the other person, it felt forced. The rest it was amazing. I loved the softness of Kylie's voice and the sexiness of Eric's performance.
All in all, it was great.

The Next Generation...

+While this book is not reliant upon reading the others in the Consequences Series, I think it is appreciated more having read the others. If one has the background of the relationship of Claire and Tony, you understand more the characters and reasonings for decisions in RIPPLES.

I urge you to read the publisher's summary, on each book, for more details, as I'm afraid adding to it may it inadvertently reveal spoilers.

This is NOT the psychological thriller that the original CONSEQUENCES is. This is a full out dominant/submissive tale. I do not care for books with this premise – especially... grrrrrr, I cannot think of a way to communicate what bothers me without spoiling.

I was happy that Althea Romig lengthened the series – to the next generation, even though this particular installment was not for me. I do hope that Audible publishes/records further books.

This book was narrated by Eric Rolon and Kylie Stewart. I found both to be great voice performers.

Left me Hanging

This book is advertised as a stand alone book. It IS not. There are portions of the book that would make zero sense if you have not listened to the consequences series. But I was most disappointed by the abrupt ending, leaving you to wonder what really happens to Natalie. It is puzzling. Don’t waste your time with this one.

i don't know

this was the first consequence book I have read. I was not impressed. I don't mind dark, but this just lacked the right timing in my opinion. The beginning almost had me dnfing, but I finished it. I was truly disappointed in the writing style and the ending just dropped off. I thought it was supposed to be a standalone, but it doesn't finish that way. I will maybe someday start with Betrayal, but I am in no hurry.

Loved the book!

Great story! So fabulous to read about the next generation of the Rawlings family and catch up with Tony and Claire. We can never get enough of them. However, I did not care for Dexter’s voice AT ALL.

3 Stars per Story Originality

It's similar to Claire's story, that's why I'm giving it 3 stars. But there's so many scenarios in my mind and the cliffhanger I was left with that I'm willing to give it a chance. It's just that Aleatha Romig manipulated the Consequences series so finely, that I find this book lacking originality. I want to know more, and sooner would be ideal.
In my humble opinion, the Consequences series need to be read before starting this book, otherwise you will have so many blanks.

Amazing

How are you going to end the story like that Aleatha?! I absolutely loved this story. Dark and with a good storyline. This is the only book I have listened to in the series. I know I would love the first 5 books but I was not a fan of that narrator. I absolutely loved Kylie Stewart and Eric Rolon! If they narrated the other books then I would absolutely listen. I hope there is more to come with Natalie and Dexter and it doesn't end like that!
