About this listen

Nothing is fair in love.

This is my kingdom. My territory. I own everything and control everyone, Aurora included. She shouldn’t have barged into my world with no armor. She shouldn’t have caught my attention with no warning. Alas, she did. Then she thought she could disappear. If a battle is what it’ll take to protect and own her, I’ll shed blood. Wars aren’t fair, and neither am I.

Rise of a Queen is the second part of a duet and is not stand-alone.

Great duet

I laughed, gasped and cried at the awesomeness of this duet. I couldn’t stop listening and finished in 2 1/2 days. This is my first time listening to Rina Kent’s books and now I’m hooked.

Rise of a Queen

Dear Rina thank you for the dual narration unfortunately you picked the wrong female voice, in my humble opinion the wrong voices reading your words can make or break your storyline. I really wanted to like book 2 sadly I felt somewhat let down.
I really wanted to like your book(s) it just never materialized for me I hate to be negative but you should know, it won’t stop me from trying more of your books in hopes of a winner.

Daddy King is my favorite!!!

Jonathon king is simply the best. I’ve enjoyed every one of Rina Kent’s books but he’ll always be my favorite.

Can't believe this duet is over!!

“Can’t believe this duet is over! I’m not ready to let Jonathan go. I’m gonna miss this man and their sides. Seriously, Rina’s writing talent is quite impressive. Their stories are the one you cant stop until you reach the end. The story, the depth of the emotions plus the connection between Aurora and him plus how Shane and Keira portray them was splendid. A more than just a pleasant audio with a mind-blowing story. Definitely a must listen duet!”

Worth a read

I enjoyed this one. I think Jonathan's smothering tire and act was a bit much at times but overall I enjoyed the storyline. I also enjoyed the developing mystery which kept me interested and wanting more.

Woody Scent.

Overall I enjoyed this book. However, I was ready to commit murder if I had to hear the FMC describe the MMC’s woody scent one more time. It seemed to be a filler. I did guess early on who the bad person was ( I won’t mention so I don’t spoil it for future listeners). All in all I’ve enjoyed the series - great characters and good performances.

Beautiful Story & Love the Twist & Turns

Fell in love with the eldest King. But I can’t help laughing at how everyone is calling him old when he’s literally in his 40s. Or when they say he looks like he’s in his late thirties vs mid forties like he’s an octogenarian?
A bit creeped out that he knew her as a kid but I got over it. Nothing is normal in their world. Appreciate the dual voices in each POV instead of them trying to mimic each other. I love Shane East but I’m tired of the female voice actor’s voice. It sounds like she always has a mouth full of spit.

Better than…

…the first half of this duet. The second book made Jonathan a lot more likable, which is good because he didn’t impress me much in the first book. And the overall story was pretty decent, but I only gave four stars for the story because Aurora got progressively more annoying/stupid in this book. This is a problem I come across way too frequently and I think romance writers should take into account that stupid MCs can really ruin an otherwise good story. If I know a writer makes stupid MCs regularly, I stop reading their work. Thankfully, Rina doesn’t usually make them too frustrating to read, but Aurora came close with her mystifying lack of communication skills concerning whether their deal was still on. 🙄

AWESOME BOOK

No one will ever guess who the bad guys are... it's not what you think. The series had me on the hook and I couldn't put the audiobook down. GREAT JOB RINA AND THE NARRATORS WERE OUTSTANDING!
