About this listen

When he rebelled against his father, Edmon Leontes lost everything, but a lot has happened in the twelve years since he left his remote home planet of Tao. He has made a new life for himself as the medic aboard a starship, earning his keep traversing the galaxy with a misfit crew. Edmon thinks he has left his tumultuous past behind him, yet all that changes when his father dies.

Phaestion, the man he once called brother, has inherited Edmon's birthright. But Phaestion's ambitions of domination are not limited to Tao, and he is not inclined to let a rival - even one in exile - continue living. Phaestion's pursuit of power spans the universe, running afoul of powers no one is fit to be meddling with. Edmon will need to confront his past as he and his crew race across worlds to uncover the origins of the Fracture...and save the universe from complete destruction.

Bad narrator

Good story but the narrator is terrible. A better narrator would have made it much better.

An excellent follow up

The author creates a lush world of characters and inventive story. They are all complex people and so much more than the typical, shallow, 2-dimensional characters. There story kept me riveted and was more than just an adventure. I love how we get to see our imperfect hero, Edmond, stumble and grow throughout the two books. Having the author narrate the story was a real treat. He did a great job with it.

Not Nearly As Good As “Song of Edmon”

I was so disappointed in Adam Burch’s Book 2 of the Fracture Worlds! The narration is excellent; I’ll give him that. But unfortunately, the author used this book to play up the theory of evolution, and in fact, the whole story is an atheistic approach to creation, life, death, and religion in general. It is more fantasy than hard sci-fi, and I much prefer the latter.

Not the sequel I thought it'd be

i thought the story would continue with the struggle and fate of Tao and a spartan society coming to terms with being ruled by the genetic engineering they despise and the day/night side conflict and all that stuff.

what we have is a quite different. it's an entertaining story though.

The author's performance as narrator was excellent.

I'll most likely re-listen to this story.

Not Polished. Needs a complete rewrite.

Any additional comments?

It tried to but funny but failed. The voice acting sounded like Christian Bale's batman in space. It felt very disjointed from the first book. I suspect this book was written first or rushed.
