Publisher's summary

Jason Bourne is back in this "rollicking roller-coaster ride of spy games" as a riddle leaves Bourne with less than four days to prevent a cataclysmic international war" (BookReporter.com).

On the eve of Russian general Boris Karpov's wedding, Jason Bourne receives an enigmatic message from his old friend and fellow spymaster. In Moscow, what should be a joyous occasion turns bloody and lethal. Now Bourne is the only one who can decipher Karpov's cryptogram.

He discovers that Karpov has betrayed his sovereign to warn Bourne of a crippling disaster about to be visited on the world. Bourne has only four days to discover the nature of the disaster and stop it. The trail Karpov has been following leads Bourne to Cairo and the doorstep of Ivan Borz, the elusive international arms dealer infamous for hiding behind a never-ending series of false identities, a man Bourne has been hunting ever since he abducted former Treadstone director Soraya Moore and her two-year-old daughter and brutally murdered Soraya's husband.

Bourne must travel to war-torn Syria and then Cyprus as he chases the astonishing truth. The clock is ticking, and Bourne has less than four days to solve Karpov's riddle - and hunt down Borz - if he hopes to prevent a cataclysmic international war...

Great story

Lots of action and good, if confusing, story. The technical re dubbing of lines in the audio was poorly done and distracting from the telling of this story. Bourne and Robert Ludlum deserved better.

Hard to follow

This book would be much better read. All the names in Russian sound the same and I was confused. If reading, I would just read again. Stuck it out but even in last chapter struggled to follow who was who??

Good Action. Ending confusing. SPOILER ALERT

I guess I should add a disclaimer: Spoiler Alert!

I would recommend this as a good read for anybody who enjoys fast paced action thrillers, and doesn't mind a lot of graphic violence and sexual descriptions. I really enjoyed the plot, action, twists, and fast pace at which the story moves along. Some of characters are unnecessarily dramatic, but overall the character development of the book was well put together. A lot of people on these reviews are knocking Van Lustbader and saying that they love Ludlum, but I have honestly enjoyed the two books I've read from Van Lustbader much better than the one book I've read from Ludlum (Bourne Ultimatum). The one complaint I have for this book is the lack of resolution at the end, as one of the major plot lines involving Russia's imminent invasion of Ukraine is left unanswered, which I found a little disappointing.

A great read! Fast moving and action packed.

I've read all the Bourne books, as well as a number of other authors in the spy thriller genre, and I think this book was right up there with the best of them.

Horrible narration-I couldn't get past 4 chapters!

Would you try another book from Eric Van Lustbader and/or Holter Graham?

Not with the narrator - never agin

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

hardly got into the story - will have to find a hard copy - just awful faux Russian accents - really bad

Would you be willing to try another one of Holter Graham’s performances?

Never!

Was Robert Ludlum's (TM) The Bourne Enigma worth the listening time?

Horrible Narration

Has Robert Ludlum's (TM) The Bourne Enigma turned you off from other books in this genre?

Yes if they continue with this narrator.

Would you be willing to try another one of Holter Graham’s performances?

Probably not. He speaks as if he can only read three word groups.

Any additional comments?

No

well perfect plan for not selling another book

Written as if the author wanted to be a soft porn writer. Narrated in such a staccato way that it detracted immensely from the book. Bad enough that the producer should have killed it by end of first chapter. Could possibly be worst all around story, narration and production performance I have read.

When the witches narrate

Story probably OK. Narrator should practice"women" voices. He makes women sound harsh and story uninteresting.

edge of your seat listen.

What made the experience of listening to Robert Ludlum's (TM) The Bourne Enigma the most enjoyable?

I have every Bourne novel. these novels just get better.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

The plot kept me listening due to the action in almost every chapter.

What does Holter Graham bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The narration is perfect. Graham adds a foreign accent that adds to the novel.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The moment was when Bourne finally solved the murder, and killed the one who sanctioned it.

Any additional comments?

If you love this Bourne novel, I would recommend every other novel in the series. Even the novel that will be posted soon.
