Not loving the narration

Movie in your mind??? Not convinced. The background music is particularly irritating and distracts from the story.

Gnock gnock do you love a good PNR holiday mashup

Love this series and am all about the dramatized adaptation. Don’t understand why people bash it, I mean I see both the regular version and this awesome extra “movie in my mind” version when I choose what and how to listen. At any rate these narrators and sound effects bring so much life to it!

Stories Great, BUT!

The stories were great, I've listened to the 1st three books on Audible. This one was done differently as a graphic audio. I didn't really care for that format. Then next book is only available in audio as a graphic audio, think I will just read it instead.

Love the series, hate this new audio format

Let me start by saying I absolutely love this series. The first three books were some of my all-time favorites, and Khristime Hvam's narration was amazing as always. But this new audio format is making it almost impossible for me to listen to. Literally five minutes into the book I want to turn it off! All the cheesy music and sound effects are horrible and detract from the story. If I wanted the sounds from a cheesy 70's sitcom, I'd watch TV. Please, please, please re-recorded these with Hvam as the narrator!

The Narration and Sound Effects Are Tough

I loved the first three books of this series. Very well written and narrated. Not so much these new dramatized adaptations. I find myself being so sidetracked by all the background noise and silly over dramatic voices, I’ve lost the story. I found myself several chapters in and didn’t know what I’d actually been listening to. Sadly I will not finish this series. I will miss all the characters in the first three books. But no more.

So disappointed!!

Really don't like the dramatized adaptation! The voices are irritating, the soundtrack is distracting and sometimes too loud so it's difficult to hear the story, and the sound effects are ridiculous. It sounds like a child's book with the sound buttons being pushed when the little picture shows up in the sentence. I couldn't get past 5 minutes of the "performance " before stopping. I have loved Devon Monk's books, and the audible book versions, and am very disappointed that the choice was made to move this way. I feel like it's stifling the way I'm imagining the characters with too much shtick. Gonna try and get my money back!

NO to the new format

I really liked the first 3 books but I did not enjoy the dramatized version of this one. If you are going to do this please give us a choice. When I listen to an audio book I am listening to the story and the dramatization distracted from that. I tried anther book that did that this and did not enjoy that one either. The difference here is that I listened to the first 3 books in the series in the normal narrator format and really enjoyed the books so I knew i liked the story already. Dramatization is just is not for me!!

Save your credit

Just plain awful. First 3 books have great narrator now this dis jointed effort. Could not even finish. I get audible for driving and the distraction of having to constantly adjust audio to hear conversations made this a no go.

Audible, this format sucks!

The books are great. great story, great writing. 1 st 3 books with that narrator are perfect. Author, Editor, Audible, the powers that be: give us the rest of the series in regular format with the old narrator!

I love these stories but I just don't feel the amount of money you pay for this story is worth it.

I think the cost of this audio story is not worth what it is. The first three stories I was able to download for free and it got me hooked. however I can finish this story in a day ,then pay the 13 or so dollars it was and feel like I'm left hanging. I don't like that so I probably will not be buying the rest of the series if I'm left in disappointment to the ending like this one.... I understand that the point is to want you coming back for more but it was definitely disappointing to end like that.
