About this listen

Navy Lieutenant Podkayne, daughter of Ray Garcia-Strickland, is tired of her job as Martian consul in California - and Earth’s oppressive gravity. So she’s okay with getting called back to Mars, even if it’s because her great-grandmother is sick and being put into suspended animation.

After a family reunion, Podkayne’s next port of call is Europa, one of Jupiter’s moons, where she can finally realize her dream of being a singer. But just when her life seems to be improving for the better, disaster strikes and Podkayne is put into her own state of suspension.

Awakened 10 years later, she will discover a solar system in turmoil - where the very survival of humanity is at risk.

Still a great story, but...

definitely different than the first parts. So far, the hardest listen of this series. The "holiday" portion of this story was a bit much for me but the overall story was still good, but not as good as the first two books in this series.

Can't wait until they release book 4 on audio.

I can't wait until they release book 4, Dark Lightning on Audiobook. if they leave the series unfinished by not releasing the last book on Audio will really stink.

Male narrator - female characters

Liked the story - just had an issue with a male narrator doing the voice of the main character - which is a 18-19 year old female. 'Her' husky voice and accent was an annoyance to me.

The first part of the store is a bit of a travel log - setting up what happens in the second part. The second part sets up the last part of the novel - which in turns sets up for the fourth and last book of the series. There are a few twists that I didn't see coming - but overall this is just a bridge to get to the next book.

by far the worst one.

it was super boring. nothing really happened. I guess it sets it up for the next one to be great but not this one.

Waste of time

"The day in the life" scenario. Also, you shouldn't make your protagonists teenagers if you're an old dude...it doesn't flow, is silly, and gets creepy. Older guys have fantasies about younger women...it's natural. Doesn't mean I want to hear them.
