About this listen

Is it really a dream come true if it means losing the one thing you never knew you needed?

Willow Parker is excited to move to Podunk, Nowheres-ville. That’s what she’s telling herself, but it’s not working until she meets a dark-eyed, honey-voiced cowboy.

That’s when her new small-town life starts looking a lot less temporary.

Bobby is a big-hearted storyteller, wrapped in a sexy, gruff, hard-working, family man package that makes Willow’s pillow-soft heart race and body hum.

She should’ve known love’s never that easy though.

Bobby Tannen knows exactly who he is - a farmer, a brother, and last but not least, a singer-songwriter.

He’s made his peace with his biggest audience being the folks at the local honkytonk, and knows his future lies in the dirt of the land he’s worked his whole life.

With beautiful Willow at his side, he’s one step closer to a happily ever after he’s only written songs about.

Until a hotshot music executive comes to town and offers Bobby everything he’s ever wanted. But it may come at too high of a price...his new relationship with Willow.

Who truly holds Bobby’s heart - the bright lights of Nashville or his sweet Willow?

Happy Tears and a book hangover

This was the last in a series of books that continually developed the characters in a realistic and loveable way. The story is good, the setting is quaint and the love is palpable. Definitely a new favorite

Loved the Country lingo

This was not my favorite book by LL. I enjoyed the dynamic between the Unc and Willow but Bobby not so much although I enjoyed how To said f@&k. He growled it, every single time, it was hot... I digress. Either way something was missing. They moved so fast then nothing. This was a good book and both narrators were great although Carly Robins gave Willow more of a country accent than the story indicated that she would have. I started with book 3 and now I want to read the other books.

I'm going to miss this family!

I've listened or read all the other books in these two series and I loved them. Rough and rowdy, these Tannen and Bennett brothers were really fun to get to know. And Mama Louise is awesome. Well, this final book follows Bobby, the last man standing, and Willow, who returns to check in on her Uncle. This is kind of a love at first sight book, with Bobby falling really quickly for Willow but there are obstacles to them being together. However, I adored their relationships and really loved how the whole family was integrated. I also liked the slice of life that ended this series. Overall, a fitting end to these two series (will there be more? I want to come back to visit this family!)

I listened to the audiobook and book the narrators, Tor Thom and Carly Robins were amazing at bringing the story to audio life. They did a great job playing the multiple characters in this story (and there were a lot of them!).

I want more!

When I started reading the Bennett/Tannen saga I didn’t think I was going to like it. It felt a little rough around the edges for my taste. But by the second book I was hooked by these grumbly gorgeous broken men and their woken who were a lot more real than the general run of romance heroines. The narration was great and the stories were well paced. I loved the sense of community that developed between the two families as they built something greater than the sum of its parts. And I loved Mama Louise, the glue that held it all together. I am so sad to be done with it. Sometimes a series gets under your skin. The characters become friends and after the story is over you think of them every so often and wonder how they are doing. This is one of those series.

Sing to me Bobby!

These Tannen Boys are just too hard to resist. Each one I keep thinking is my favorite, but now I definitely know it's Bobby. After all, how can I resist the smooth country singer? Bobby's dream was always to be a famous country singer, but life has pulled him in another direction. The death of his parents and loss of their family farm has kept him close. He loves singing in the local bar and when he meets the newest bartender, he is smitten. Willow has come to town to temporarily be with her uncle. He owns the bar, and she does her best to resist the charms of Bobby. But once she gives in, all is lost. When Bobby is discovered though, life may take a different turn. What will happen when choices have to be made? Will love overrule all? I think this is my favorite of all Lauren Landish's books. It's sense of community with all the crossover characters makes it feel like coming home. Bobby and Willow's relationship is a joy to follow, and their love just fills your heart. I loved the side story of Willow's uncle, their relationship, and what she finds out about her family. Eating at the Bennett dinner table is a blast, all the personalities, all the family bickering and the love. This story is the culmination of all things I love and it's a fantastic listen.

Tor Thom and Carly Robins are amazing narrators and teaming up for this book are a perfect fit. Thom uses his natural southern twang to bring Bobby to life. He is warm, charismatic and irresistible. Willow needs a snarky, confident voice and Robins comes through with it and an edge of vulnerability. It could not have been cast better and is one of my favorites of the year.
