About this listen

When a two-thousand-year-old curse is the only thing keeping you safe, you should probably just leave it alone.

Here’s the problem—the curse is now breaking itself. The sanctuary is crumbling, Pell’s anger issues come with a new destructive voice, Pie has no control over her spellings, and Tomas is trying to convince himself that, one day, Madeline is going to love being a dragon.

Add in an old friend (minus her couch and plus a big blue bus filled with orphan kids), a new version of Granite Springs where the devil lives in a bar, a hundred monsters reliving the teenage-years they never had, and a date to a prom in 1982 and we’re getting close to the chaos that’s coming.

Other worlds are calling, the new doors act like hallways, and nothing that mattered before matters now. The world is quickly changing, and when the curse finally breaks for good, will there be anything left?

Royal Beasts is the third book in the Monsters of Saint Mark's series, a rompy paranormal ancient-Roman-gods rom-com. The series must be listened to in order.

Contains a special note from the author, JA Huss (writing here under her pen name, KC Cross).

Talk about characters that you love, Pie and Pell. If you need the escape, if need a little magic in your life, this series is for you. It’s rich in characters and plot twists but our three favorites, to include Tomas, keep you in it to the last word and waiting for the next in the series!

I didn’t want it to end

The Monsters trilogy is the 3rd series I have read by JA Huss / KC Cross.
It’s hard to turn in my driveway when I’m listening in the car. I get drawn in to each characters story/ lives. She writes just enough detail to get you hooked and leaves a bit of room to draw your own images and bring life to it. I wish there was more explanation back to the visions of Pell and Pie as kids together..
can’t wait for the next series.

Incredible journey

I really enjoy the characters and their relationships and interactions.
I totally agree with your EOBS and like to think there is more after we leave this plane. I also like the thought of doors and hallways, though I wish sometimes they were a little more obvious especially when the world is beating me down.

Loved this series!

Fourteen hours of great storytelling. This installment takes the characters to their conclusions by spending a great deal of time in the past. All the reveals were very well told, fit the story very well, and weaved together like a beautiful tapestry. These books classify as paranormal romance, but KC Cross (HA Huss) is in a league of her own. You will not likely find this depth characters & storytelling and richness of backdrop elsewhere in the genre (with the exception of a few other authors). She is worth following so you know when there is a new book out.

I was a little bummed not to get closure on Thomas, but was delighted to hear he would re-appear in further installments which will focus on Vinka, etc. But this trilogy is meant to focus on Pei and Pell.

Narrators, same as in the first two, are EXCELLENT.

HOLY MOLY!! SO GOOD!

I just loved this series so much. I am incredibly sad it has ended! The narration was absolute perfection. Julie always weaves a fantastic tale that is guaranteed to please.

OMG love ❤️

I found this last book a little confusing. it did seem to jump or go on and on. I think fore me the individual characters monologs could have been a lot shorter, especially Pies. I thought the first book was the best.
I really did like Hathaways narration, great voice.

Not sure

The storyline of the book was all over the place and kinda hard to keep up with. It was interesting yet aggravating. Narrators did a great job with characters; I love Jason Clarke’s low raspy voice.

All over the place
