About this listen

A desperate young lady...

When Elinor's guardian arranges her marriage to an elderly merchant interested only in her society connections, she will do anything to sabotage the wedding - even if it means ruining herself by running off with another man.

A gentleman rake...

Who could be a better choice for a woman who needs ruining than a man so notorious that all of London calls him Lord Rake?

A straightforward bargain...

But when their arrangement goes awry, saving Elinor may mean ruining the rake!

For such a short tale it was very good! A pleasingly enjoyable and clean regency romance. What fun! Well written, very well narrated and yes, fun.

Fun!

look, i read A LOT of books my first love is historical, so when i saw this book i though hmmm rake? sounds delicious so i started my audible, the h was a woman who would have been very unusual in this era, i mean going to a known rakes house? unescorted? this was the start of the unrealistic story, circumstances that didn't make sense, and no sex, nope NOTHING yes our hero thinks about it, but kissing is as far as our "rake" gets i felt 3 stars was being genuinely nice ..

sweet, too sweet and innocent for me
