Yes. I want to finish the series an find out what happen to the Blackwater brothers.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

The ending is what I expected, sort of predictable.

Have you listened to any of Jill Tanner’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This was my first one

Do you think Rushed to the Altar needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Yes, it needs a follow up. When ths story was finidhed I still had questions .

Can't Wait

A good listen can't wait to get the next two books - interesting that the "hero" is supposed to save someone. The wicked uncle and the twin brothers. Death and love - exciting.

Rushed To The Altar by Jane Feather

This at least my 4th book by Jane Feather and I have loved them all. This book had a couple of dislikable characters intent on evil. The rest of the characters were great. Two minor complaints about this book that did not detail my enjoyment. The Hero needed to be a bit more like able and mature. Also, the Heroine needed a bit more of good reason to keep her entire truth to herself for so long. Otherwise, I loved every minute. Minor spoiler: I how hope baby farms weren’t real but if I look them up I suspect they were. Children, orphaned children and poverty were treated so horribly in those days it breaks my heart. Just as poverty, child abuse and persecution do today.

Excellent Story!

Loved the characters, loved the storyline and loved the ending! There wasn’t any part I didn’t like and I would recommend as a 5 Star read.

Just Ok...

I thought this book was just ok. I really like historical romance but the one think that can be really annoying is that they can take a really long time to get throgh a simple plot just to rush the ending. This book was no exception. The plot was so simple that you could write the story yourself. I did like the narrator. She made the Character come alive. This book will keep entertain as long as you want it to be the background noise. If you are looking for a story that will get your mind involved...This is not the book for you. Later :)

Enjoyed! 💜

I enjoyed the book for a relaxing fun listen.. There wasn’t much depth, substance to the story, but that was part of why I liked it, it was just a nice lighthearted listen. Jill Tanner did a fine job, I’m looking forward to the next two in the series.

Entertaining!

If you could sum up Rushed to the Altar in three words, what would they be?

Fun, Entertaining, Sensual

Who was your favorite character and why?

Clarissa, because I found her likable, astute, smart and very much capable of taking care of herself.

What about Jill Tanner’s performance did you like?

Between reading it and listening to Jill Tanner narrate it, I found myself enjoying this story very much. With her wonderful voice and an English accent, she brought all the characters to life for me.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes but alas it was not to be. I listened to it in the car and at home.

Any additional comments?

This is first the story in a new Blackwater Brides trilogy from Jane Feather and I really liked the premise of a dying uncle who will upon his death divide his fortune among the three brothers, his nephews, but only if all three men agree to marry and redeem a fallen woman. The catch is that all three men have to fulfill this or neither will get the money.

As a plot, this worked for me and I am actually looking forward to the rest of the books because I really liked all three brothers, of which the youngest two are twins.

For me, all the elements of a well written story were there. The characters, especially the heroine, I found likable, astute, smart and very much capable of taking care of herself. On the other hand, it took me awhile to warm up to the hero. I found him unreasonable at times, but in the end he did show his true feelings and his love for his brothers was genuine. I also liked the pace of the story. It was perfectly paced and moved the story forward.

Between reading it and listening to Jill Tanner narrate it, I found myself enjoying this story very much. With her wonderful voice and an English accent, she brought all the characters to life for me.

If you're looking for a fun and entertaining read, I highly recommend this story.

It was a bit slow

At the death of her father the heroine and her brother was left in the care of an uncle that wanted their inheritance. She had to to some extreme things to survive. The hero needed a wife of ill repute. They met and all hell broke lose. The heroine was willing to do whatever it took to protect her little brother

Rushed to the altar was a solid, enjoyable story if somewhat predictable.

Ehhh...

Not a bad story really...one thing that truly bothered me was the young brother, who was supposed to be 10 years old...acted, and was treated more like a 5 year old.

Take to long

This book takes to long to get to the point. I wish it wasn’t so slow.
