Best narration!

I could listen to Rhett all day, his voice is very deep and does a wonderful job with all characters! In the beginning, I was a little confused with the time line, and I felt the story took a little bit to really get started, but overall I enjoyed the book, very much and am looking forward to the next book!

Excellent Fantasy! Can't wait for the next one!

Rune Scale did not disappoint! i had read the reviews of those who had read the books prior to it being put on Audible and was excited to listen to it hoping it would be a book to share with my kids. Although there were a few minor cuss words it, it wasn't used a lot and so it was tolerable - I would place it in the middle school age range for appropriateness. This book has a unique and fun plot and I found myself having a hard time putting it down. Mr. Price does a wonderful job with the narration, he has a deep rich tone that aids to the character of the book. I'm hoping they get the others in the series out on Audible soon!

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

GREAT STORYLINE!!!

I'm totally digging these characters and the magic system! At no point in the story does the protagonist fall into the legendary "Woe-is-me" cliche and spend chapter upon chapter listening to everyone reassure him of his worth. I mention that because it's threatening to choke the life out of me lately. Whine-ass teens in Epic Fantasy just drive me nuts. I blame Robert Jordan for making it a habit to include whine-bags. ANYWHOOZLE...I'm not gonna go on and on because I've gotta get book 2 started. Great job Devin!

Dragons, magic, alchemy, and the comming of age

I received an copy of this book for evaluation from audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. The narrator, does an excellent job in telling the story and brings each of the players to life. The story line is well developed and interesting but it was a bit linear and I would place this as a youth fantastic. The author does an amazing job with attention to details is such a way as to have you feeling what the player is feeling. After I was done listening to the book I put it down for a few weeks and went back to listen to it again, like I do with most books. However, this is more of a once-through and done than a book worth the re-read.

Amazing

Finally a great story where the characters face trials but no dark fates befell them. It did start slow but the last quarter of it really took off.

Captivating

This start to a new series is great. It took a little bit to get familiar with the characters and new world, but after that I was listening to every word. Andrew's journey to adulthood made him a great hero. Both he and Jules stay strong, no whining. Love it.
Ava, wow..did not see that coming. Love her and can not wait to see how that develops.

The narrator is so important to the author, and Mr. Price is priceless. His clear and rich tones, not only identify each character but make it a pleasure to listen to.

This is my opinion only & should be considered with others as a whole. This audio was given to me free at my request & I made this review voluntarily. Thank you for the opportunity.

Excellent Fantasy!

Excellent Fantasy set in a world of magic and dragons. Humans survive by using alchemy to protect themselves from dragons. Andrew Condign is just a merchants son. He becomes a gunny on an airship to help protect the people from the dragons. After the airship is destroyed by a dragon, Andrew flees the city and sets off on a very dangerous journey to a new city where he hopes to learn alchemy to help protect against the dragons. His journey takes him dangerously close to dragons and he discovers something about himself he never knew, a special ability. Excellent narration by Rhett Samuel Price! He has the perfect voice for this story! The first few chapters of this story started a little slow but quickly escalated after that. Devin Hanson did a great job with the story and building this fantasy world of dragons and magic. I can't wait to enjoy the rest of this series and I hope the author continues to use the same narrator!

Show start, but very good listen

To be honest, I almost gave up after the first chapter. Mr. Price's luxurious voice takes some getting used to, but stick with it, the overall book is very good and Mr. Price does a fine job voicing it.

I found the characters to be well developed and the story line intriguing. The last hour of the audio, however, is setup for the next book. Which I'm okay with, but a full hour seems bit much.

I will listen to the next book when it become available.

Starts slow, ends perfect!

Worth reading, the description of the book doesn't do it justice and is so much more interesting than it seemed to be.
