About this listen

He made the ultimate sacrifice to save another. Now, he must do it all over again in a world with powerful magic and deadly assassins.

Caleb Helm is ready to start life. But when he heroically rescues a little girl in the street, the Air Force Academy senior can hardly believe it when he himself is run over and killed. And things just get stranger after an otherworldly deity charges him with saving an enchanted realm.

Reincarnated in the body of a 14-year-old boy named Aiden, the former soldier discovers he is a natural prodigy with elemental powers. But though he is sent to the kingdom's premier school, arrogant nobles and destructive beasts threaten to once again end his mission before it can begin.

Can Aiden preserve a people he barely understands and avoid a second death?

Excellent story

Story was excellent, with rich characters, compelling ideas and a well developed world. The narrator is maybe new? They sound like a child trying to emulate how an adult sounds. Hopefully if they are still used in future installments, they will improve.

Excellent book if not a little short

This is an excellent cultivation novel! The Academy in this book is more or less a sect but presented as what is sect should be and not what is portrayed in many cultivation novels. The what we see is sect in many cultivation novels is what happens after 1000 years of decay. This whole story is refreshing take on that “ join a sect” storyline.

a taste of air force; a feast of cultivation

I like how the best of Air Force-like behavior is manifested in the main characters attitude and personal discipline. If you're looking for action, this isn't your prime piece, but it does have a lot of creative ideas, story progression, and description of cultivation. Also, concepts sound reasonable, rather than hollow, preachy doctrination. Despite "He Who Fights with Monsters" being very preachy, this and that book series are very reasonable, while many are lacking such good sense in this genre.

fantastic story

the story and performance are great. the gist of the story is an airforce cadet dies saving a kid only to die and wake up speaking to a god and what follows is an isekai cultivation journey.

Great story and told well.

It may be considered a good story for a younger audience but as an middle aged adult, I found it enjoyable too. I was very happy to find the narration was done well. I hope the next books in this series will be put on Audible as well.

Highly enjoyable

What can I say? I enjoyed the book. A lot of people will comment that there are a bunch of stereotypes for this genre of book but I still enjoy them is something I look forward to.

I loved it!

It felt like it was written to a younger audience due to how things were phrased. For example there were numerous statements and descriptions that were written very simplistically. I didn't have a problem with it though, because it was just such a good story and I love the progression!

I am always on the lookout for a good cultivation series and I am very pleased with this book. It has a different terminology on cultivation than a lot of systems I've heard but also has many similarities. There are is just so much good information and explanations. It really made me enjoy the story. I felt like the world the main character is in is well defined and structured and he's learning with in it.

Great story! I'm getting book #2 now!

Best school in a book I’ve read

I’ve read many books that involve a school but they usually have the teachers hating/loving the MC for no reason. The higher class (nobles or upperclassmen) also bully people and the teachers do nothing or just don’t check into it. But this book makes me feel that all people are treated fairly and all get help when asked in this school.
