About this listen

The favor seemed simple: Keep my new stepsister out of trouble for one summer.

I've never met Grace Lee, but Mom tells me she's a quiet and artsy college student with a troubled past. When I agreed to let her stay with me, I thought it was no big deal. I expected to share my apartment with a sullen girl who'd spend hours locked in her room.

I didn't expect a walking fantasy determined to make me lose my cool.

I didn't expect a woman with secrets so dark, so deep, I'd throw away everything if it would save her from the past.

Rushing in to do this favor is turning my life upside down - and not just because Grace is temptation personified. Keep her out of trouble? Grace is the trouble. And I want in.

Rushing In is a standalone novel and the second in The Blackhawk Boys series.

Football. Secrets. Lies. Passion. These boys don't play fair. Which Blackhawk Boy will steal your heart?

Mad me cry

I liked how Grace had a troubled past, her self doubt of herself, and how her secret crush from years ago becomes her hero, but not before conflict splits them up. She sacrifices her wants for what’s best for him, but he comes through for her. Also, loved the surprise beginning.

Your past Always catches up with you

When you're young and dumb and want attention. Especially when they tease you unmercifully you find one way to keep them from teasing you never in your wildest dreams did you think your stupidity would come back to haunt you as an adult.

4.5 'I'm So Thirsty' Stars!

I loved this second book in the Blackhawk Boys series! This opposites attract/forbidden love was funny, angsty, heartbreaking, hopeful, and sexy. Grace has a past she is not proud of and is trying to put it behind her. She is working hard to be the woman she wants to be, but unfortunately her past keeps following her. Her father is overly concerned and protective of Grace. He arranges for her to stay with his new wifes' son while they are on their honeymoon. The surprise is when they meet, Grace remembers Chris from High School but he doesn't remember her. Grace has changed her appearance and has left that embarrassing time behind her, and when the chemistry sparks between them, she doesn't want to lose it by reminding him of who she really is. Chris is the ultimate thoughtful, kind, and sexy man. He has a reputation for always being in control, that is until he meets Grace. He is so attracted to her, but is trying to be the responsible caretaker that Grace's father asked him to be, and it's driving him crazy. Grace is so different than the kind of woman he usually goes for, but she is bringing out the passion he didn't know he had. There are running story lines from the first book that add drama along with Graces past that is following her. The issues Ms Ryan tackled have no easy answers or solutions. She did a fabulous job showing empathy for each character and their struggles. I loved both Chris and Grace as they grew into the strong, confident, passionate people who were perfect for each other. I really loved Summer Roberts narration. I thought her delivery was spot on and passionate. Tyler Donne did a good job as well but I needed a bit more inflection at times especially when Grace was driving Chris crazy. Overall I really enjoyed the performance of both narrators, and thought they really complimented this story. The epilogue had me in tears and was the perfect ending, for now, to this story. I definitely recommend this book!

Tears...so many tears

Chris is the good guy and Grace is the bad girl who’s loved him all her life. Their tumultuous and heart wrenching story is incredible and will keep you on edge until the very end.

I have never been so emotionally invested

I have never been so emotionally invested in a book!

Wow!! This book absolutely floored me. I was so emotionally invested that I could feel Grace’s feelings: the innate fear, the yearning to be accepted, the smart a$$ mouth to make her seem like she doesn’t care, the fragile child locked away, the woman who wanted nothing more than to make her father proud. I loved every bit of Grace’s story.
And then there was Chris… I am always drawn to the “bad boys” in romance novels. The “alpha males”. Chris is the inherent “good guy”. The boy next door. The all star athlete. The hero. The panty melter!! He swept me off my feet early on, and that never changed.
I’m looking forward to reading the next chapter of Grace’s story! (*hint, hint, wink, wink Lexi!!!)

Great story

Loves the story I had issue with why the main characters couldn't be together because of her past and what he said and how she so easily lied to him and it was a little much but the story was good until those points.
