About this listen

A power that could destroy the world

A prize that men will kill to possess

Juan Cabrillo must find it first....

Two opposing groups seek a 50,000-year-old radioactive meteorite known as the Sacred Stone. Muslim extremists have stolen a nuclear device and need the stone to give them the power to vaporize any city in the west. A megalomaniacal industrialist leads a group seeking to carry out the utter annihilation of Islam itself. And caught between the two militant factions is Juan Cabrillo and his crew, who must do whatever they can to stop the impending doom....

Story is ok but the narrator 👎

This narrator is boring and dull. I like the Oregon series but this book was ruined.

Narrator

I thought the narrator was terrible.
The story did not follow the normal story. He only called the head guy the Chairman once.

Ehhh

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Very convoluted and the reading was horrid so you lost interest. his attempt at multiple voices was just bad.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

expected

Would you be willing to try another one of J. Charles’s performances?

no

Was Sacred Stone worth the listening time?

doubtful

Any additional comments?

I have read/listedend to all most 100% of Clive Cussler's works. This one just didn't excite me - not sure if it was the story line or the reader

The Oregon Files.

I enjoy this series and I highly recommend for all Dirk Pitt fans and as well as fans of the Fargo adventures. The narrator does great work, and great audio production overall.

Worst Narration Ever!

Great story overall, but I nearly stopped listening each time the narrator attempted to give inappropriate dialect to the minority characters! Simply the worst narration of my considerable audible listening career!

Not the same Oregon Files we've grown to love

First off, my most glaring complaint has to do with the narrator. To say it was awful would be a complement. His attempt at differentiating characters came off more like everyone was drunk. It's a pretty good storyline, but there are some weird consistencies based on prior novels. For instance they keep referring to him as Mr. Cabrillo not the Chairman or Juan. I think the authors just found this one in.
