About this listen

YOU CAN RUN
Sam Wylde is a Close Protection Officer to the rich and powerful. In a world dominated by men, being a woman has been an advantage. And she is the best in the business at what she does.

YOU CAN HIDE
She takes a job protecting the daughter of the Sharifs – Pakistani textile tycoons – but she realises that there is more to their organisation than meets the eye and suddenly she finds herself in danger.

BUT ONLY ONE PERSON WILL KEEP YOU SAFE FROM HARM
Now she is trapped underground, with no light, no signal and no escape. Dangerous men are coming to hurt her, and the young charge she is meant to be protecting. With time running out, can she channel everything she knows to keep them safe from harm…?

RJ Bailey's first fast-paced, unputdownable action thriller featuring bodyguard extraordinaire Sam Wylde is narrated by Imogen Church, reader for Into the Water by Paula Hawkins and The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware.

Didn't see that coming

Great book. As always Imogen brings the characters to life. Twists and turns. Surprise ending.

Grass grows faster and is more interesting

I expected so much more action, according to reviews. This was not action packed, it was mostly grindingly boring, repetitive and could have used about 40 less chapters. I found myself skipping over whole parts of unnecessary rhetoric to find something meaty and substantial. And Ms. Churches’s narrative was so monotonous and uninvolved as to put me to sleep. Indeed it did, several times. The last few chapters finally picked up, but by then I had been bludgeoned by sheer and utter boredom.
