About this listen

Jack Nightingale fights his battles in the shadows - in the grey areas where the real world meets the supernatural. But when he arrives in San Francisco to take on a group of Satanists bent on opening a doorway to hell, the danger is out in the open and all too real.

The Apostles - a Satanic coven using murder and torture to pave the way for a demon to enter the real world - realise that Nightingale is on their tail and unleash their own brand of monsters to take him down.

With Nightingale’s life - and his very soul - on the line, he has only days to stop The Apostles from bringing death and destruction to the entire world.

They are some plot holes but over all another great Nightingale book. Leather does a good job of building tense situations

I love Jack

It is amazing how much research went into the Jack Nightingale series.
Some of the voices are similar. Mens voices are pleasurable, women’s voices not so much.

The narrator was excellent. The story was interesting though I think I am missing something from the end of the previous book where Jack faked his death and this one. These must have taken place in some of the numerous short stories. Oh well.

Exciting and Annoying

This first stint in the USA for Jack is first rate. The goodness he fights for saves kids. And in what suspenseful and sometimes frightening ways yet so charming and BOLD as always. So Stephen Leather reigns supreme over satanic forces yet again. And this reader/listener remains very much enthralled.

I, at first, skipped this after having listened to 3 of Leather’s books, just to give it a rest but I turned around immediately and got this — I’m glad I did. I couldn’t stop listening. Definitely worth it.

Did not disappoint
