About this listen

Come into the East End of London, England, 1888.

Walk the streets of Whitechapel and slums of Spitalfields, side by side with history's most notorious serial killer.

Overhear his plans, and listen - or try not to - to his secret thoughts as he waits in the shadows. Keep pace, if you have the nerve, as he stalks his victims.

Watch, if you have the stomach, as he commits his outrages. And run with him, if you're still upright, as he escapes the swarming forces of police desperate for his hide and head.

Imagining the unimaginable in this unabashed novel of terror, award-winning author Doug Lamoreux takes you inside the mind of the infamous killer who was never caught.

Discover the Whitechapel murders...as told by Jack the Ripper himself.

I've listened to a few Jack The Ripper stories, crime solving mysteries etc.. But to listen to the actual Ripper. At first I thought.. Mnyaeh..
But when you're into it, and realize that the author AND narrator must have to absorb that soul to deliver this very researched and well executed delivery, the result is an outstanding performance.. It must have sent chills up the narrators spine. I'm sure I heard it once or twice. Saucy...
BRAVO!!

As an admirer of all the historical London killers, this version of Jack the Ripper by far is the best! Terrifically told by the author Doug Lamoreux and wonderfully narrated by Steve Hart. Historically correct in the descriptions and facts as they are recorded. Told so well leaving you to believe they were from the killer himself!! If you like scary, gory, diabolical stories, you will absolutely enjoy this one!!!!

Terrifyingly Wonderful!

Not only is this story extremely good and detailed accordingly, but it also sounds extremely plausible to have happened this way! I would not be surprised if this was how it actually happened.

brilliant viewpoint!

It's not bad but it's not great either. I don't know, just wasn't my cup of tea I guess. It really is just the killer's point of view so prepare for a dive into the psychopathy of a serial killer, but it seemed...pretty black and white thinking without any shades of grey.

I like the narrator's voice. The villainous laugh made me smile.

A great listen for me on a long road trip.
Couldn't stop listening and the miles flew by. I love historical fiction and with the added mystery/thriller element, this audiobook is compelling and keeps you guessing even though you may know how this story ends.

Don't listen before bed

Too vivid for the likes of me. Should have warning label- WARNING; may cause nightmares. This book was so well researched and the story told with such realism it’s as though the author is channeling the fiend himself. I’ve never been more relieved to finish a book! Well done Mr. Lamoreux and shame on you!

Vivid imagery!

It's a fine little piece of JTR fiction, that's all well and good, but the narrator. Oh dear. It's not a problem with accent, it's not a problem with archaic language -- this man simply can't speak. It's a good voice, but he mispronounces at least a couple words per ''page," let's say. Again, not due to accent or not-oft-used words (though if you're reading historical fiction based in fact, a moment of research into some of the more famous & important landmarks/names/etc would not go amiss; these things are extensively documented and not difficult to find out. Can we talk about "Tony-bee" Hall????) It's just incredibly frustrating and kept yanking me out of what is otherwise an adequate if unimaginative Jack story. The unfortunate choice of reader plus apparently zero editing (countless first takes just left in the audio like it's nbd) gives this a sense of rushing and not caring a bit.

No, no, no.
