Publisher's summary

Finally - all three books in this terrifying trilogy are now all together in one volume!

A strange phenomenon occurs out of nowhere: an omnipresent light that engulfs the entire planet. Humanity is forever changed by the light. NOAA and NASA are mystified.

People soon face a new threat; even the smallest, most insignificant injury will no longer heal. Doctors cannot stop it. The sick do not die. They change. They are Scabs.

As the survivors flee, it becomes clear there's no place to run, and time is short. The topography of the planet begins to change. Devastation and destruction ensue on a massive scale.

Scott and Warren Walsh are brothers. Over 1,000 miles separate them from one another. Something about them is special, and places them in a category with only 0.2 percent of the world's population.

Only one thing gives Scott, Warren, and others like them hope against the Scabs...The Gemini Exception.

Could’ve been better

Overall the story was very original and well performed. However, towards the end, when life or death choices needed to be made, everyone made very poor decisions. I’m sure there are ignorant people that make progressively bad choices the worse things get but I tend to think smart when lives, especially my own, are on the line. It got so frustrating that I had to skip along to the next chapter.

Creepy fun

These books are exciting and fun to read. Mr Shelman not only wrote the books but he narrates them. His narration is great, you will have no difficulty knowing who he is talking for. I highly recommend these novels!!

Great Trilogy

I fell in love with Eric as a narrator and am so glad I bought this series. It a unique take on the apocalyptic genre. Am off to find more of Eric's treasures to listen to.

Loved the story and the characters

From beginning to end I was hooked. I listened way beyond my usual listening times. Excellently narrated and the story was a constant nail biter. I cant wait to re-listen, to catch what I missed the 1st time around. As a huge fan of The Dead Hunger series, I can't believe it took me this long to give it a listen.

I Appreciate the concept

I love the performance of this book and Eric A Shelman performance in general that’s why I look to read his books or find books where he is the narrator. Especially when they have some on a ham radio or speaker it sounds like you are there love that! I like to story with a few exceptions. Out of all the survivors why was there not 1 black/Asian/Native American or Indian women?? It seems even the reborn will have green eyes and pale white skin. Really?!? The lack of representation at all took away from the book for me. Out of the 14 women mentioned only one was anything but white and that was Alicia who was Mexican and she didn’t even get to find love. Coming from a black family with several identical twin girls in it trust me they exist. It made it hard to listen to after a while which makes me sad.

Hard to listen to

book started out great, as the story progressed it got harder and harder to listen to. each and every characters seemed to , for lack of a better term got dumber and dumber. By the third book poorly trained monkeys had more common sense. Then the plot holes of stupidity started popping up.
