About this listen

Sixteen-year-old Trinity Foxx is used to her grandfather's crazy stories, so she doesn't believe that the latest treasure he brought home is a real dragon's egg. Not until their home is invaded by soldiers trying to steal it and a strange boy telling her the world as she knows it will be wiped out in a fiery dragon war - unless they work together to stop it. Meanwhile, there's a different voice whispering to Trinity, calling to her, telling her what to do…because the dragon in her egg is not ready to give up without a fight.

maybe if the reader was better...

I mostly listened to this while riding my bike or driving, so I only half paid attention. I lost interest fairly quickly because the reader was awful, her inflections all off time. the story was okay. maybe I'll try reading the next book to see if it's better without the reader.

Great story

The book swore quite a bit, to much for my taste. But the story was great I loved it and I'm planning on listening to the second one!

Sacrifice one to save the world.

I did not realized when I got this book it is based in modern times. I was under the impression it would be in a fantasy world when I bought the book. I really liked this book and plan on buying the next book in the series. Admittedly there were some parts that have been done before, but I still liked it. With a mix of stories plots like Eragon, Reign of Fire, Heroes, and Terminator the story was very action packed, luckily I like all these plots. But despite this the book was good, I think mainly because I like the main character. Trinity was just a normal teenage girl with an attitude that takes no crap which made me like her even more. Now there was a tiny bit of romance in the form of a trilogy, which normally I wouldn't like. In this story I didn't mind it too bad because that was not the focus of the main story line and I did like both the brothers Conner and Caleb equally. At first I wasn't sure I was going to like the narrator but as the story progress she either grew on me or she got better. I was afraid when the audio first started she was going to have a little girls voice and annoy me too much.

All your favorite sci-fi movies and tv series mixed in

I’m no longer confused. That it! It’s like every movie, sci-fi tv series and book genres all mixed in. Great orthography gets any rating. I get young adult books; as my boys and I share titles to read. It was suggested to me; as they know I love PRN’s. They kept complaining about all the things that didn’t make sense. My oldest made it to 15%. I got to a point where the only thing left was her being miraculously impregnated and become a goddess and savior of dragons. Oh yeah, that’s what she’ll be in future of a world; as she is the reason for some apocalyptic times. I swear, if the twins turned out to be her father I would no longer have a phone. Not waiting to find out. It’s a lot of movies put together. Therefore, things don’t make sense. I painfully made it to 47%. As the saying goes, That was the icing on the cake! I prefer an entertaining, original book with typographical errors; than a nice number of pages, good orthography, but thrown together not making any sense. Simply, to make money. I can’t even believe I wasted money on the Audible. That could have gone to other books my kids actually finished and want me to collect. How is it that has 4 and 5 stars, must be the spell checking. Definitely not for boys or young adults. It’s more for girls under the age of 10 or 12. -At least that’s what my 13 and 16 year old sons agreed on. By the way, I got better imagination than my kids!

What made the book okay: the narration and good spelling. The narration is what made me make it not give up. Thank you 🙏
