5 He’s Her Savior Stars!!!

As much as I loved this story when I read it, listening to the audiobook expertly narrated by Maxine Mitchell and John Lane brought this story to an entirely new level for me. The elements of suspense were that much greater listening to Ms. Moreland's words come to life. I felt every fear of Missy and the power of Marcus and what he would do to protect this woman that he's fallen in love with. I have a new appreciation for Missy and her determination to heal and have a life she never thought possible. Ms. Mitchell and Mr. Lane have done exactly what I love with an audiobook that I've had the pleasure of reading the printed book prior to listening... they made me fall in love with all the idiosyncrasises I missed while reading giving me an entirely new experience with a book I already loved!!

I already loved Marcus when I met him in The Boss, but this book has made me love him even more!!

He’s a man that knows bringing this fragile and shattered girl to his home is exactly what he shouldn’t do, but there’s something about Missy that makes him go against all the rules!!

Marcus is truly tested when Missy enters his life and there’s nothing he wouldn’t do for her. But Missy is so broken and while she comes to trust him, she also has feelings for him that Marcus is reticent to explore… but he only has so much willpower and when he finally decides to be the man that heals Missy in every way possible.

Along the way, there are some revelations that were shocking and just made me that much more invested in this series. I cannot wait for Julian’s book because I think there are things that we don’t know yet and his book may answer some of my questions!

Great story.

I had no idea I read for 6 hours until my husband asked me if I was planning on doing anything else today. The Boss was great, like vanilla ice cream great, Second In Command is like the chocolate sauce with a cherry on top great. I’m waiting anxiously to read the next book. This series is definitely addictive, the men are hot, strong, protective of their loved ones especially their better half and they’re fighting to protect women. I mean. They don’t get to be any perfect in my eyes than that. The heroines are strong but soft and feminine. The stories are interesting and memorable. Do yourself a favor and get on this series.

Better than I expected.

Melanies writing was just as i expected..great as always. But i knew this hero was hard to write. Just as intense as I expected him to be and more loving and swoonworthy than I thought. I loved Missys strength. Great book. Narration on point as always.

Great Story and great narration

John Lane and Maxine Mitchell did a wonderful job bringing the characters and the story to life. They were spot on with the emotions and the tension featured throughout Marcus and Missy’s story.

Second In Command is Marcus and Missy’s story and it’s the perfect second book in the Men of Hidden Justice Series. I have been open and honest when I say I’m not into dark romance but Melanie Moreland has taken me to the dark side and I now want more!!!!!
I was captivated from the first page to the last line, I made the mistake of starting this story at night and a sleepless night followed so please make sure you have time to finish what you start because I’m sure like me you will want to finish this roller coaster of a ride in one sitting.
Marcus Gallo was second in command under Matteo but when Matteo retired he stepped up to run his own team. He is determined to carry on eliminating the men who harm innocent people and when his team rescues a group of woman he finds Missy battered and caged and that’s when his protective nature goes into overdrive. What follows is a couple forming a bond as they work on finding the man responsible but this book is also a very tender love story as Missy becomes the light in Marcus’s dark.
I’m loving Ms Moreland’s dark world and I’m so happy I decided to jump into this world because it may be dark but there’s also light and I’m so excited for book 3.

Marcus and Missy are so chaotic together, they have sizzling chemistry from the start and it’s explosive! Missy might be young, but she’s so feisty and resilient, love the fact that she’s an undercover agent at such a young age. Marcus is feeling the burden of taking over Matteo’s place, but meeting Melissa brings out his protective side and he unexpectedly follows his former leader’s path in more ways than he is supposed to. This was fast-paced and action-packed, Missy is no damsel and she plays a crucial part in his operation, much to his dismay. I had such a good time listening to this, highly recommend!

Outstanding story and narration

I’m not a huge fan of Mafia romance stories but as it was written by Melanie Moreland, an author whose writing I admire, I decided to take a chance on the first book in the series, The Boss and absolutely devoured it, I loved it. So much so that I could not wait to read Marcus and Melissa (Missy) ‘s story.

Second In Command was suspenseful, romantic, riveting and I was hooked from the first to the last chapter. It was extremely well written with characters who you quickly fall for and who will leave an impression on you.

Their journey was rocky and explosive at times I feared they would not get through the darkness to the light. The chemistry and heat that sizzles between Marcus and Missy was intense. My heart broke for Missy and everything that she has endured. Marcus was such a protective man who proves Missy can depend on him to be her strength as she recovers. For me this book was darker than the first one but just as good and I was totally consumed by the story.

John Lane and Maxine Mitchell did an outstanding job with their narration. The emotions and their performance really brought Marcus and Missy to life for me. The voices are easy to listen too and they brought depth to the story.

I loved this book, perhaps even more than Matteo and Evie’s story and was on the edge of my seat whilst reading this book and anxiously await the next release in the series.

You, Ms.Moreland have changed my mind on darker romances.

Absolutely phenomenal

Melanie has done it again . This is another masterpiece and epic story . I had loved the story when I had initially read it but loved it way more while listening to the audio version. Marcus and Missy were just phenomenal. John and Maxine have done phenomenal job narrating and bring Marcus and Missy characters to life . Definitely a must read and listen .

Missy and Marcus

This book was so good I am sorry it was not longer. There was plenty of suspense and romance. The book had a great ending. I am looking forward to Julian's story. Maxine Mitchell and John Lane did a great job with the narration.

Dark Romance

Second In Command is the 2nd book in the Men of Hidden Justice. Melanie Moreland has a gift with words. I absolutely love Marcus & Missy! Once I started this book, I finished it in one day. I could not put it down. I love this darker side of her. I felt like I was on a rollercoaster. All the twists and turns. I really liked listening to it as well.
