About this listen

Philip Gardiner has spent his life on a crusade uncovering the truth behind myths, legends and ancient mysteries. Author of the best selling Secrets of the Serpent and The Ark, the Shroud and Mary, the author now delves into another aspect of the human enigma with Secret Societies.

In Secret Societies, Gardiner's quest is to uncover truths and secrets of the world's most powerful men in history. The journey takes him to dark places - sinister places that existed then and still exist today.

Gardiner delves into a world that is formidably hidden from our eyes and finds himself in situations that seem to mirror the fictional world of the Da Vinci Code.

  • Discover the core of the 'Secret Societies' belief systems.
  • Explore the secret origins of Freemasonry and the links to Serpent Cults.
  • Examine the actual members of the "Illuminati", analyze the history of the group in Europe and America.
  • Discover a link between the "enlightenment experience" and the control of the human mind.

Gardiner finds himself getting involved at a deeper level. His journey shall serve as a reminder to us all that the search for the ultimate truth can often be a terrifying and life changing one.

bad music blots out some of the reading and wastes minutes of listening time with no dialog at all. What is said is old news or badly researched. don't waste money or credits on this fecal mater.

    Avoid

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

If the you would remove the music and changed the narrator.

How could the performance have been better?

    No music

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

    OK

    Any additional comments?

Do not buy its a waste, you can not understand a single thing because of that awful music in the backround.

    Needs Prof. Mixing

Barely enough material for 1 chapter much less a book. Loud music throughout combatting with heavy Brittish accent. Extremely difficult to understand. Get in Book if interested.

    Save your time

    Muffled recording.
    Thick nearly incomprehensible accent.
Too many musical tracks - which are too loud.
    Auditorily disturbing.
I'm not sure whether or not there was decent information since I could barely understand it.

    Terrible

This recording is terrible. The choice to play music all throughout the reading, with varying levels of volume, is so distracting that it makes it impossible to focus on what's being said.

    Why the Music?

Who had the idea to play music during the reading of an audio book? And what does heavy metal music have to do with Jesuits? I completely wasted my money on this purchase.

    Brutal listen

Sappy music that interferes with the listening and subject matter that assumes you're already an expert in the subject. This thing listens like something that was cut out of the middle of a more descriptive and interesting book. A complete waste of my time and money.

    Poor Listen

Philip Gardner, from what I've heard, should have been very interesting. Sadly, I could not understand what he was saying due to the music... and such awful music! I'd really like to have my money back on this one.

    Music, Maestro...NOT

If the author paused to clear his throat, it was a cue to strike up the band, or sometimes, the orchestra. The interesting facts about secret societies, their origins, their place in history and how they influenced, and continue to influence, governments and nations are hard to concentrate on due the constant interruption of music ranging from classical to rock. The author's own accent adds to the difficulties. A listener will get something out of this short read but the production doesn't make it easy.
