About this listen

If you are new to this series, THIS is the book to start with.

The same love story...just told in a different way.

The same things happen...they just happen differently.

With brand new content, this story has been revamped. The emotion, the intensity and the HEAT have all been TURNED UP!

A music label wants my band. I just want her.

I never knew a smile had the power to change the course of a life, until she smiled at me and shifted my world off its axis.

My band? Revitalized.

My writer’s block? Gone.

My heart? Hers.

There’s no way I couldn’t marry her the first chance I got. They said we were crazy, that getting married so soon was insane. I don’t care. I love her more than anything. And then my band gets the call that changes everything.

My dreams are all coming true, but what will the sudden rush of rock and roll success do to our new marriage? It’s going to take everything to manage this new rise to fame and life on the road while hanging onto the love of my life, but there’s no question…I’m not doing this without her.

My new favorite Rockstar Romance

This is the first book I've read/listened to by Natalie Parker. I've listened to it twice now and it's become my new favorite rockstar romance. Jack and Mayzie were perfect for each other. They had a sweet story with the perfect amount of anguish. I was so invested in them and the story that I didn't like the interruptions! I will definitely listen to this again...and again. I look forward to more from this author.

Celia Stone and Walker Williams were great narrators! They brought this audiobook to life with emotional performances that had it rolling like a movie in my head.

5 stars for me !!!

Jack and Mayzie’s love story was sweet and emotional, which I loved! Jack and Mayzie had the kind of inevitable connection that made you feel like they were meant to be. I loved how Jack was so devoted to Mayzie. This was a fantastic listen and I highly recommend!!!

So sweet, your teeth'll melt...

He’s an incredibly sensitive, caring rockstar, and she’s a dancer. Does it sound fun already? Because it was fun.

Slow burn.
Rockstar / dancer couple.
Both leads have likable, supportive friends & fam.
Meetcute.
Slight miscommunications (they’re cleared up almost instantly.)’
Lots of good, open communication.
Song lyrics shown to reader.

I liked that road life was depicted, and not just depicted as being a big party. It felt more real. I liked all involved characters and would love to listen to more in this world.

4 stars.

🎧Audio:
The only issue for me was, during many of Williams’s parts, he was actively, loudly panting while speaking—it got pretty distracting, took away from the reading experience a bit.

The overall sound quality was great, very crisp and clear.
Both narrators were great, performing the book and using different voices for different characters, so that the dual-narration managed to sound almost like a full-cast narration. Aside from the panting, it was great.

Enjoyed this Rock Star romance!

A chance meeting in a cafe, Jack and Mayzie whirlwind romance begins. Getting married, then his band finally getting their big break as an opening act on tour, brings challenges the newlywed couple must overcome. I love the connection between Jack and Mayzie and the fact there's a little bit of drama that they need to overcome.

Great first book of the Turn It Up series. Walker Williams and Celia Stone are great narrators!

This Book Rocked~Great Story, Characters & Listen!

Rockstar romance novels are one of my favorite tropes, so I knew I was going to enjoy this book, despite being new to Natalie Parker, and I was not disappointed one bit. She is a gifted author with a wonderful writing style and she created a story with intriguing characters and storylines. Once I started the book, I did not want to stop because I needed to know what happened next. The characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with. Mayzie Walker and Jack Karansinski clicked the moment they met and while Jack takes it slow at first, he was really into her. Mayzie is an aspiring author, but for now copywriting jobs are paying her bills. Jack is in a band, “Turn it Up” but bartending pays his bills for now. He also writes the songs for the band, but is having writer’s block, but Mayzie becomes his new muse and the words flow again for him. Jack and Mayzie’s romance was a whirlwind, they fell hard and fast for each other. Then the band gets discovered and they join a tour as an opener. The life of a rockstar on tour has its challenges, and not only for the band but for Jack and Mayzie’s relationship, too. This is not your typical angsty rockstar romance, because Jack is far from that, he is sweet and swoon worthy. I enjoyed this story immensely, the plotting and world building are fantastic, and it has a perfect balance of drama, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. Besides the two fabulous lead characters, there are some wonderful secondary characters, too. Natalie Parker, thank you for this great story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 Celia Stone and Walker Williams did a fantastic job bringing these characters to life, giving each a voice that suits them perfectly. I loved how they took their roles and made them their own, sounding believable and just as I imagined the characters would sound. Williams rocked it out as Jack, showcasing his personality completely and Stone did the same as Mayzie, bringing out all sides of her personality as well. Both were fabulous performing the roles of the secondary characters too. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they capture all the characters’ emotions and have you feeling each one. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another great listen.

See Her

Audio Review:

This book is a little different from what I’ve normally been reading, but every now and then you need a nice, sweet, angst free read as a palate cleanser. And that’s exactly what I got with this book. I really liked Jack and Mayzie as individuals and I absolutely loved their relationship with each other. If you’re looking for a quick and sweet read, give this one a try.

These were new to me narrators and while not my favorite, I still enjoyed them. They did a good job portraying the characters and telling the story. I look forward to hearing more of their work in the future.

See Her

See Her is the first book in the Turn it Up series. This is a rockstar, instant, young love romance. Mayze bumped into Jack leaving a coffee shop. She was too nervous to make a move on him. Jack was instantly attracted to Mayze. He asked for her number and hoped she wouldn’t bail on their date. Being nervous himself he was taking it slow getting to know her. Jack was a up and coming rockstar. His band was starting to gain more attention. I really loved these two characters.

Celia Stone and Walker Williams did a fabulous job narrating this book.

Pleasantly surprised

I was on my last credit and being really picky on my next audiobook pick. I was in a mood for a rock romance but recently the last few in this category have left me annoyed by the characters.

I really liked this one. The story, the characters and the romance. It gave me some really good vibes. I recommend this one. ☝🏼 not a waste of my last credit.

My muse

Jack was infatuated with Mayzie when they first met.
She is the first girl that he wanted to get to know better.
Mayzie was surprised that he actually listened to their conversations.
Jack has a start up band always wanting to go to the next step.
Maizie encourages him to follow his heart.
His heart has her love and the ambition to go on tour.
I love how this story develops their romance and how they overcome the difficult trials that tested their love.
Celia Stone and Walker Williams give this story the drama, love and intensity needed to give this amazing story life.

Book 1 - can be standalone

This is book 1 in Parker's Turn it Up series. A rockstar romance read / listen. Well written and beautifully narrated by talents Stone and Williams who brought our main characters Jack and Mayzie to life. I love that this journey takes us from the very beginning to a HEA in their journey together. While the romance itself was fast paced and the angst was relatively low I enjoyed the balance of sweet and heat. I also loved that Jack went from writers block to rock god in no time at all also that he's not the typical rocker but shows a soft and tender side rather than the alpha domineering that so many rocker romances provide (I like them both btw). Mayzie is a strong character herself and I love she is able to process her feels and the two had a great couple to help guide them thru the initial rocks of marriage and success. Overall, a really good listen and I'm looking forward to more!
