About this listen

Elisa Sullivan is the only vampire ever born, and she bears a heavy legacy. After a sojourn with the North American Central Pack of shifters in the wilderness - where she turned a young woman into a vampire to save her life - Elisa returns to Chicago.

But no good deed goes unpunished. The ruling body of vampires, the Assembly of American Masters, is furious that Elisa turned someone without their permission, and they want her punished. When an AAM vampire is found dead, Elisa is the prime suspect. Someone else is stalking Chicago - and Elisa. She'll need to keep a clear head, and a sharp blade, to survive all the supernatural strife.

Contains mature themes.

Holy crackers!

Oh how I’ve been waiting to get this book in my hands! I was in no way disappointed either! Talk about a wild, twisty ride!

I adore Elisa and Conner. They’re both struggling to find their place, the right footing needed to prove to they are capable of taking on danger and coming out, mostly unscaved. You’d think by now the parental units would have figured this out. Lol but, parents will be parents.

Elisa has a lot on her plate. Juggling isn’t as easy as it could be with only one hand to hold the plates in place since her other hand has a sword in at the enemies throat. Both Elisa and Conner have to think fast and be sure about the moves they’re making, one wrong move...and their worlds come to a crashing halt.

Now, let’s just say, I’m definitely a huge fan and with each new book, the love for these characters grow! I can’t wait to see what Chloe has in store for us in the next installment!

Shadowed Steel (bws)

Beautiful story. Loved the progression of relationship between Conner and Elise. Charley doesn’t need to talk like a bad girl to be a strong, confident bad girl. Lastly what was with use of the word “screen’ instead of cell, mobile or phone especially since this book was made this year. I did find that annoying.

Such a great series

I absolutely love this series. Elisa and Connor are such a great pair. I love their connection, their banter, their strength. This book offered up a few different mysteries to solve. And the Super Sup Team did it again. You definitely won't want to miss this book. This book offers up action, sarcasm, and a little bit of romance. What a wonderful mix! I can't forget the narration. Suzanne Elise Freeman does an amazing job with this series. She has given the characters a voice! She does an amazing job!

So Much Fun

Ms. Neill's writing is terrific. The stories are compelling, the characters think and get twisted in their relationships, and the books are just plain fun. Throw in some ethical issues and just enough sex and you have books for adults. The performance was terrific. I just love her books.

Better than the original series?

In some ways Chloe Neill gets better with each story she tells. I find I love Elisa and Connors adventures almost more than “Darth Sullivan and the Sentinel” almost. They did set the stage.

In this offering you get to see Elisa’s emotional growth and meet a few new characters. All of which I think foreshadow a bright future if more interesting books to come. If only she could write faster.

Another great one!

I just finished listening to this audiobook and I loved it!

Not going to leave spoilers, but lots of Elisa Sullivan and Connor Keene action and interaction.

Also, a bit of disappointment with the handling of an antagonist, but then again, Elisa is written to be a fair level headed vampire, and I was being a bit blood thirsty in regards to this character. But other than that, everything was great!

Recommended audiobook.
