About this listen

Unlocking the Source for True Leadership

Too many people, men and women alike, have bought into a notion of leadership that exclusively emphasizes traditionally "masculine" qualities: hierarchical, militaristic, win-at-all-costs. The result has been corruption, environmental degradation, social breakdown, stress, depression, and a host of other serious problems. Nilima Bhat and Raj Sisodia show us a more balanced way, an archetype of leadership that is generative, cooperative, creative, inclusive, and empathetic. While these are traditionally regarded as "feminine" qualities, we all have them. In the Indian yogic tradition they're symbolized by Shakti, the source that powers all life.

Through exercises and inspirational examples, Bhat and Sisodia show how to access this infinite energy and lead with your whole self. Male or female, leaders who understand and practice Shakti Leadership act from a consciousness of life-giving caring, creativity, and sustainability to achieve self-mastery internally and be of selfless service to the world.

As a CEO I wish I had read this book 10 years ago!

As a CEO of a mid market company I wish I had read this book 10 years ago as it has really enlightened me about how to build a great culture. I appreciated how the book helped me look at people not as enemies nor allies but rather as a single group responsible for helping me develop parts of myself that have been suppressed, repressed, or been lying dormant and undeveloped. Shaki Leadership helped me connect to the idea that we should not have anything to defend, promote or fear but rather to seek a deeper understanding of what is showing up in our lives. Another way of saying it is looking at the world through the "I" of the eye" and understand how we typically see and interpret the world is through our own lens of which is not necessarily reality. After reading the book it was clear to me how reality goes much deeper and there is so much of myself that is not fully developed and that is why I should see others around me as people who help me become more of my true self rather than trying to promote, defend or fear a personal agenda I hold. I feel the this book has made me much more aware of how I need to show up and the benefits gained from running my business with love, care, authenticity, vulnerability, and joy. Thanks for inspiring me Nilima and Raj!!

Great listen.

I’ve listened twice and am about to go a third time. I hear something new each time. It’s a totally transformation book as long as you’re ready for it. I highly recommend doing the audible and listening again and again. New messages will keep syncing in. Thank you to the authors.

Open your mind and you won't be disappointed.

Not what you expect but the message should be heard around the world. It's about time we soar as humans...

Excellent!

I was surprised at how deep this book goes. Blends the esoteric with the practical beautifully. Highly recommended!
