An unexpected Watson

A tale of both Watson’s brilliance and failure told well from Turley. As always, White does a magnificent job of narrating.

A Fascinating Exploration of Character

Would you consider the audio edition of Sherlock Holmes and the Adventure of the Tainted Canister to be better than the print version?

I haven't read the print version, but I have difficulty imagining the medium would make much difference to this particular story.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Holmes was my favorite character in this story. To explain why would spoil the ending.

What about Steve White’s performance did you like?

Steve White captured this particular version of Watson brilliantly, without failing any of the other characters in the story. His characterization for Mary was quite excellent, as well.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes! And because of its running time, I was able to!

Any additional comments?

For reasons that become obvious at the story's conclusion, this story is an fascinating exploration of character, and probably the perfect length for what it is. Had I invested more time with this particular story, I might have found it annoying. But the author seemed to recognize that this specific tale should be exactly this length. Absolutely worth a listen for any Holmes fans looking for a thought-provoking surprise!

Well written but pretty dark

Trying not to give out spoilers... this was an interesting perspective for Dr. Watson & why he no longer had his Mary with him when Holmes returned from the 'grave.' While well-written and thoughtfully plotted, it was too dark for my tastes.

Short, but still engaging

Watson comes to grips with his own actions in a well-spun tale that would have fit well in the compilations by Sir ACD. The narration is solid, and as always, is interesting given my Texas twang. An enjoyable, short read / listen.

Teetotalers be warned

Drinking tea might be the end to you. Dear Mary Morstan found out the hard way.
