Publisher's summary

When Aspen Mesmer asks a complete stranger to kiss her one night in a bar, she never expects to have an immediate connection with the man.

Kane “Brain” Temple knows he isn't the kind of man women look at twice, but when Aspen did just that after their explosive impulsive kiss, he's thrilled.

But even as things between them get serious, someone doesn’t want either to be happy, and is willing to do whatever it takes to break them apart.

Shielding Aspen is the third book in the Delta Team Two Series. Each book is a stand-alone, with no cliffhanger endings.

🗼Wonder Woman takes on Delta!

🔹My NEW Favorite Delta Book - and Characters! 6 Stars baby! 🔸

🔹Aspen is exactly what I was waiting for in Susan's Delta series books. She is Sensational - Strong, fearless, brave-hearted, quick thinking, athletic, highly intelligent and overall wonder woman lead female!! AHHH! and Gracias Susan!

🔹Kane is a gentleman, brilliant, talented, quiet but attentive, surprisingly romantic, honorable, lionhearted and a valiant Delta hero!

🔹Their story is EXPLOSIVE!!!

🔸Pros n cons- you decide:

🔹Pros - High octane romance that goes from zero to 60 from beginning to end! Aspen and Kanes story is electrifying! This particular Delta book is an all out, over the top ADVENTURE!

🔹I adore the way Susan takes you from their comfort zone in Texas to hostile Afghanistan and back home again...and then THROWS you into another debacle when the flood waters rise and they head out to help save people during a storm! Only to be thrown with another TWIST to this amazing story when Kane ends up almost drowning! EEKKK and WOW!

🔹I felt Aspen and Kane's "connection"! I was rooting for them the entire time! AHHH!

🔸Cons- No real bad parts...although I was a little shocked when Kane turns his back to the bad guy during the boat ride. (that would NEVER happen!) I don't even turn my back to the door at Denny's!!

🔹I honestly didn't care for the way Susan described Kane's " Johnson" - it didn't sound appealable to me amigas! Im very glad Susan didn't give Kane's character a Huge Johnson like all of the others Deltas! Since most women dont like Giant johnsons, unless their a porn star!! LOL!
The way Susan described it was a bit weird - making him ex long....the visual I got was cringy...especially since the average Vay- J is 6 to 8 in deep when aroused. An ex long johnson would be more prominent to pound against the ol' ovaries! UHH! and OUCH!

🔹I was disappointed when Kane was rude to Aspen at the hospital. I cut em some slack - since he had a head injury and they had all narrowly escaped with their lives! EKKK and SOB!

🔹 Since Kane was SO level headed, I dont feel he would have overreacted at the hospital - when snapping at Aspen (that whole scene seemed to be out of character for Kane - just sayin!) But at the same time I "get" the tension that Susan kept up between our 2 main characters! I was SOOO excited and thrilled Kane's Delta buddies "STOOD" up for Aspen! Kudos! I was a little sad that Kane couldn't see for himself that Aspen was AMAZING - instead he needed his buddies to reinforce things ? Wha? ( as if he was a 6th grade boy) ...Uhh...come on folks!

Since Kane was such a GREAT GUY overall throughout the book - again, I cut em some slack!

🔹I FEEL Susan needed to milk their story out....by keeping Aspen away from Kane ( not allowing her to get back with him so quickly) ...then tumble this into the next book - perhaps with their "Wedding" and another adventure of course! LOL! If some guy told me off and dumped me like Kane did, Id need more graveling and "time" off to forgive em! just saying! AHH!

🔹If you are into action, adventure, romance and intrigue - this is the book for you! All of the characters are LOVABLE!!

🔸 Kudos to Virginia for your spirited and delightful narrating!
🔸Thank you Susan for a STIMULATING and RIP-ROADING BOOK! I absolutely LOVED IT! Its gonna be difficult to TOP this one!

- Namaste Stoker fans!

Tough ass female

The dichotomy of the these 2 was awesome. Brain is a bad ass Delta along with being brilliant, of course he would need a bad ass combat medic to meet both sides of him. The real life trials of being a female in the service are a great reminder that all service people deserve our respect.

Strong women with Alpha men

It is nice to read of alpha men without all of the bondage and submission shit that is so demeaning. It is impossible to be submissive and strong. Susan gets that.

This is Why She's the Best

Susan Stoker has once again shown readers why she's at the top of the heap. All of her stories are good. All of her characters are notable. But this particular story shines for several reasons.

Aspen is a combat medic assigned to an Army Ranger team. She does the same training they do, but she doesn't qualify for the Ranger Tab for one reason: she's a woman. Every day she gets out there with her team and shows them why she's earned her spot. Over and over again. She's used to the way some of the men discount her service, mock, belittle, and even harass her. She doesn't like it, but she gets it as part of her role in breaking down barriers.

Kane is also in special forces, but he's Delta, a more elite fighting unit. He's astounded that someone like Aspen seems to be interested in him because he's a geek. That's why his call sign is Brain. Their first meeting is great. Swoon-worthy even. But their romance is even more fun in a slow-burn kind of way.

What sets this read apart for me is that the author did not send the plot down the most expected path. Not once, but several times, she deviates from an anticipated course and gives the reader a totally different read than anticipated. All the suspense, danger, humor, heart, and angst you expect from a Stoker romance is here in full force. Any fan of romance, especially military romance or romantic suspense will find this story to be a worthy read.

BTW, if you haven't read the other books in this series, no problem. Ms. Stoker writes in such a way that the books in a series are interconnected as far as characters go, but each book can easily be read and enjoyed as a stand-alone.

Another Delta Force home run

Shielding Aspen is the 3rd book in Susan Stoker’s Delta Team Two Series. We meet Kane “Brain” Temple, a Delta Force operative known for his vast arsenal of languages, and Aspen Mesmer, a combat medic attached to a Ranger team.

Aspen, to shake the unwanted attention of one of her teammates who happens to be her ex, share an explosive kiss with Brain. The two strangers soon develop a connection and embark on a relationship, which is not welcomed by Aspen’s ex.
The moment I saw that the audiobook of Shielding Aspen appeared in my library I wasted no time listening to the story, knowing it was going to be a good one and I was not disappointed.

As always, Susan Stoker delivered another entertaining story. Having Virginia Rose narrate it was also a treat. A definite five stars all around!

Great story and character interaction

Loved the interaction being the Brain and Aspen. A great look at the true life of gender issues both in true life and in the military.

Stoker does it again

Not sure how she does it but she does each book in her series just gets better and better. But shame on you Susan for teasing us with the next 3 books in this series.

Compared to the other books in this series this one was a slow burn to the intimate part of their relationship but well worth the wait. Can’t wait for the next book.
