Publisher's summary

I swore I wouldn’t do this again. Mix sports, school, and sex. But right now the only thing standing between me and the NHL is six feet of frenemy packed into a pair of form-fitting jeans that have me thinking all kinds of things I shouldn’t. Mostly how to get him out of them.

I don’t just want Kolby. I need him. Because I’ve got to pass this theater class—yeah, I said theater—if I’m going to keep my spot on the team. When tutoring sessions turn into dates-not-dates over Shipley Cider at Vino and Veritas, I realize it’s going to be harder than I thought to keep my hands on my stick and off of Kolby. Worse, I think I might be falling for him. But I’m not ready for that. I want to keep this thing between us on the down-low for now.

But Kolby hates secrets. Especially his own . . .

Good story and performance

I liked the storyline very much. I loved the performers’ storytelling as well.

My only complaint is how everything goes down at V&V. In my opinion, Kolby was very much to blame for how the secret got out and even if Adam didn’t want to take his calls because he was dealing with the fallout, it’s Adam’s choice how the story gets told afterwards. Adam shouldn’t have to beg forgiveness for not giving Kolby a chance to explain.

Sports..and young love

Difficult histories...family...relationships....young love..plenty of chemistry, which I could feel. Adam and Kolby worked well together. I enjoyed the narrator also.

Good narration. Decent story.

I enjoyed the narration by Cooper North and Iggy Toma. They did a nice job of bringing two interesting characters to life. The story had some interesting moments, but I kept getting hung up on certain details. I was a college athlete. I knew many college athletes. Yes, they have a reputation for consuming an above average amount of alcohol. Some of that reputation is warranted. Most is not. College athletes on scholarship who want to go pro do not regularly drink beer after practice or games. Just no.

I liked parts of the plot, but the character reactions kept giving me whiplash. I felt like I was in the middle of a daytime soap opera where the characters can only respond to any event with melodrama. One minute they are in love, and the next minute they have experienced the worst betrayal of their lives.

If you like romance and melodrama, you will probably appreciate the story.

Well written

Each book in this V&V series is so amazing in their own way plus it’s written by different authors which I find super interesting. The characters are well rounded and the stories entertaining! Check out this series you won’t be sorry!!!

Don’t want this series to end!

As this beautiful series starts coming to a close, my heart is still wound up tight with all the characters of V & V. Colby and Adam are at the top of my favs. Who doesn’t love a good jock falls for the nerd romance? I absolutely fell hard for these too! On to the next one!!! These will all be rereads/listens for this gal!

Good V&V Installment

I love the whole Vino and Veritas series and this is another great addition. I love the callback of some of the previous characters. This story was a fun opposites attract/theater nerd/jock trope. One of my favorites. The back stories of each were compelling but could have been fleshed out a bit more. The only drawback for me was the sister. I did not like her at all, not only because she had a big mouth, but because I just felt like she didn’t add anything to the story except unnecessary angst.

Enjoyed the audiobook just as much as when I read it. The narrators did a great job with the characters.

HEA was good but…

I think it was messed up how it was mc1(hockey player) kept having to win mc2 back. In the 1st situation it was understandable but he told him straight up how he wasn’t ready to come out yet until a few weeks and he basically got pushed into it. The second time mc2 and his friend deserved 100% of the blame but it was still mc1 that had to beg him to get back together. Mc1 told him a secret in confidence and mc2 blabbed and mc1’s secret got outed but mc1 still felt justified in being mad that mc1 reacted the way he did. Pffft imo mc1 should’ve done the begging he was the one chasing after mc1 in the 1st place after mc1 just wanted to focus on hockey and his future. Ughhh . The narrator was good though Iggy is one of my faves
