About this listen

Easton

Hockey isn’t forever. The money, excitement, and glory of being a professional hockey player meant more to me than a family, a home, and a forever. Another man has my forever, and I have hockey. I thought making the big bucks and playing against the best in the world would feel better than this. Instead I’m empty and hollow, like a big piece of my heart was hacked off. There's something missing. Something big. Something I can never get back.

Caroline

I loved him, but he wasn’t the love of my life.

My husband died too young, too suddenly, too tragically. I was unprepared with no education, no job skills, and no future plans. When a DNA test reveals my twins' true parentage, I have no choice but to do the right thing. I turn to the one man who’d turned his back on me all those years ago.

I'd been shutout from his life, and I'd shut him out from mine. Can two strangers make a family? Do we have what it takes to forgive and move on?

Overall, it was fine for a free book. I would have been mad if I paid for it. There’s a lot of swearing unnecessarily for a romance novel. Takes away from the romance of the novel in my opinion. The book was super cheesy and pretty predictable, which is what I like in a romance novel. It had a great ending. I probably wouldn’t read it again, but I don’t feel like my time wasted.

Cheesy but predictable

Loved the story line and Easton Black. Very good book. I liked the foul language. Romance novels aren’t about good language. And there’s a ton of cussing in hockey!

Loved the story line

Parent saying they are jealous that someone else upstaged them at Christmas is not a dynamic I want to read or promote.

Mother constantly putting herself first over her children

in my membership. Not worth the credit. I've not read this author's work before. I won't continue with the series.

Pros: it was a hockey romance

Cons: very few hockey games mentioned, 6 yr old twins acted like 12 yr olds -their reactions were way too old for their ages, Carolyn aka Carolo was difficult to identify as being 24 yrs old and Easton was older(?) our younger (?), the events were rushed and sex was meh to non existent. I hate audiobooks that end with "The End"

Overall, this was a weak beginning to a series that gets less than 4 stars. Now I know why and will try to return this book.

Should have been included....
