About this listen

Profiler Sarah Armstrong knows what it's like to be in a sticky situation. As a single mother and one of the few female Rangers in Texas history, she has had to work twice as hard to rank among the best cops in the Lone Star State. But when mega-wealthy businessman Edward Lucas III is found murdered along with his mistress, their bodies posed in grotesque ways, Sara quickly senses that this will be the deadliest case of her career. While others focus the investigation on Lucas's estranged wife, Sarah disagrees and hunts a suspect only she believes in. Yet nothing in her career could have prepared her for the horror of a young man who believes he has been sent from heaven to massacre innocent people.

When Sarah picks up on the killer's elusive trail, following his scent all over Texas, the psychopath makes her his next target. And as Sarah closes in, the madman sets his sights on all she holds dear.

Singularity features a feisty, funny, and tough heroine and a truly creepy killer, as it races along to a chilling and unexpected climax.

Excellent story

This book was a break from my normal genres and it was absolutely amazing. Great story telling and visuals.
I live in Texas so part of this story was right in my backyard. I learned a few things about Texas Rangers and in look forward to more in this series.
I loved Sarah & Maggie & Strings. I’m glad the story didn’t have a cliffhanger.

Debbie did an excellent job narrating. This was the first book I’ve listened to by her.

I was voluntarily provided this review copy at no charge by the author, publisher and or narrator.

Captivating!

Singularity by Kathryn Casey is a captivating listen. The author wrote an intriguing character in Sarah. I love the premise of a female Texas Ranger, as so many rangers portrayed in books are males. The storyline is original, and full of unexpected twists. I loved the fact that I had not figured out who the killer was and how the author balanced professional from personal life. Kudos to the author for the great suspense too. Debbie Andreen performed this book flawlessly. She brought the characters to life with her distinguishable voices and southern accent. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review. I will most definitely listen to more books by this author and narrator. This is a standalone listen.

All kinds of great

There’s a lot to like in this thriller... real characters, mystery, action, love, family... and a strong female lead.

The narrator kept me in the heat of the action throughout.

For any women who like action thrillers, this is the book for you. Guys too - as long as strong women aren’t too scary! :-)

I received this audiobook for free in exchange for a review.

Great read, looks to be a good series

My first read/listen from author Kathryn Casey. A well-written book with captivating, well-developed characters. Narrator Debbie Andreen’s talented narration adds greatly to the book’s enjoyment. I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. I’ll be reading more in this series, in fact when I'm done with this review I'm going Amazon shopping. great murder/mystery w/a little something personal

I really enjoyed listening to this book and following along with the mystery! the author did a great job of bringing in the characters personal life and intertwining it with the murder mystery. I also enjoyed the fact that a lot of the situations and actions in the book could absolutely happen in real life. I definitely recommend this book.

Better Than Expected

I'll admit that I normally don't go for mysteries. I received this audiobook for free in return for an honest review. Honestly, I was very impressed. The story moved along nicely with suitable highs and lows throughout to keep the pace under tight control. Each character was unique and excellently developed. Once the villain started talking, I found him to be really creepy, which was intended I'm sure. The narration was also outstanding--between the slight southern drawl of Sarah Armstrong, to the hispanic characters, to the men. It's been my experience that most women struggle to convey convincing job with male voices, but Debbie Andreen did a very satisfactory job with the only exception being the reporter who sounded a little too much like a child. That's not enough to deduct a star from narration though. All in all, a very enjoyable story that I'm glad to have experienced. I'd definitely recommend this to mystery fans.

the story was interesting but

the story was quite interesting but I have some things to say the performance wasn't so much in 2019 I expect much more from the recording not the performance the performance wasn't great but it wasn't awful it was like listening to some Echo while you're listened to the book and it was kind of frustrating especially when you're listening to books with very expensive headphones and you hear everything the story itself was interesting and it kept me going and it's unfortunate

A brilliant mystery debut............

Singularity is the first in this series by Kathryn Casey, but it is difficult to imagine that this is her first fictional book. The writing is very skillful, and my attention was immediately captured by this story featuring Texas Ranger Sarah Armstrong. Struggling with the recent death of her husband in a car accident, Sarah is juggling the demands of single parenting her 11 year-old daughter Maggie as well as an active career as a profiler for the Texas Rangers. She begins investigating an apparently straightforward case of murder for hire, but she quickly links it to a series of murders throughout the state of Texas. She must battle opposing forces in the FBI, a judge's gag order, a dogged reporter as well as a truly cunning killer in order to stop the murder spree. Throughout the action-packed scenes and the intriguing hunt for the killer, the author sprinkles peeks into Sarah's personal life with her daughter, her mother, and a possible new love interest in the form of a fellow law enforcement officer. This balance of action/suspense and personal drama make Singularity a truly impressive novel.

Debbie Andreen does an incredible job with the narration. She has a slight Southern accent that perfectly suits the setting of the story in Texas. Her delivery is flawless, and she uses the perfect tone for each of the varying emotions in the book. I highly recommend both the author and the narrator of this audiobook, and I hope to see many more offerings by them in the future.
