Publisher's summary

The Hawaiian Islands in spring should be a romantic paradise, but along with rekindled passion, Amber and Irix discover a magical spell gone horribly wrong.

Two sex demons could set Maui aflame with desire, but there's another creature with a more lethal inferno planned. Defeating it and saving the island will take all of Amber's newfound powers, as well as the help of friends new and old - especially since there's more to this enemy than what first meets the eye.

Pineapple Trees...really??

I love the IMP series and Debra Dunbar books but common maybe you should visit the island next time before writing your book about it. It ruins the story when you base your plot around these non existent trees. There is no such thing as a Pineapple tree. They grow close to the ground ...its a plant. I have visited the island only once and discovered this right away. It just seems so lazy to make a huge mistake like this. Then you compound the situation by dwelling on the misconception... the fungus on the tree, the orchard, the bark being infected and so on just a huge lazy mistake. Also having your heroin have to give herself to others or multiples guys at a time that she just picks up in bars when she doesn't want to constantly to get a little power then come back and get with her partner ...sloppy seconds or thirds ...eewww! That doesn't make me feel good for her either. Having to pimp yourself out against your will is not a super power its kinda sad so I didn't enjoy this book. I just felt sorry for the main character and embarrassed for the authors lack of research.

Could have been great

I like the author and the first book but the second missed the make for me. I was excited to see what amber and Irix would do once reunited but it was a big let down to have most of the book focus on her relationship with another woman. She didn’t spend enough time with Irix. I got pretty tired of the surfing lessons.
It was obvious who the fire god was (I won’t spoil it) so amber came across as pretty dumb for not seeing the obvious.
Also maybe it’s only me but I didn’t find the sex scenes detailed enough. When you choose to write a book about dec demons you should go all in and write hot and complete sex scene not just brush them off.
The pineapple trees drove me crazy since pineapples don’t grow on trees.
Overall it was a good book but I really wanted more heat and passion and love from amber and Irix’s first vacation together. It should have been about them deepening their connection but it was all about amber falling in love with someone else but still loving Irix...wasn’t for me.
Excellent writing and great narration but the overall story just didn’t have enough of the main characters relationship to satisfy me.

PINEAPPLES DON'T GROW ON TREES!!!

How can this and the previous book be so full of overly complicated/detailed and frankly unnecessary botany information yet consistently make this ridiculous mistake of referring to pineapple trees.

Some reasearch would have been great

The main location of the story was a pineapple plantation. Pineapples are not trees, do not have branches and twigs nor tree trunks. The author really dropped the ball on the research and this really grated when listening.

Good Book but Silly Mistakes

I live in a area that grows sugar cane and pineapples. They do not burn sugarcane here anymore, it actually reduces the sugar content in the cane.
Pineapples also do not grow on trees. Lol. Pineapples grow on a plant that grows on the ground. It was a hilarious mistake. Otherwise this was a fun story and I loved it.

Sexy time

Amber and her life as a half succubus and half elf started off on a rocky road. At the end of the first book, we were left with Amber still trying to figure out how to function with her succubus side. At the beginning of the second book, we see Amber has grown over the last six months, coming into her own and becoming semi okay with her needs. I did like to see the growth of Amber, but I am also happy to see that the author didn't right her to automatically be put together.
Irix and Amber's relationship has grown, they've learned how to function as a couple and also feed their sex demons. Irix in this book is refreshing, he shows his support of Amber and backs her every step of the way.
Although two of them are supposed to be on vacation in Maui, there are still issues that arise one being Amber dealing with a rule of hers and falling for a local female. Amber also has to solve the issues of the random fires that are breaking out across the island, and when she does it's a lot rue fight.
I enjoyed the second book, and I look forward to reading the next.

Demons, Elves, Goddesses, Angel's oh my.

Amber and Irix travel to Hawaii for a vacation. There they run afoul of the Goddess Pele. Pele is going by the name of Cleo and is not allowing Amber to use any of the men in Hawaii to regenerate herself following heavy magic use. Cleo is also using her fire to destroy sugar palms and pineapple groves to show her displeasure toward her people. Amber and Irix are helping the island people stop Cleo.

Loved this novel!

I absolutely loved this novel, just as I have loved all of the stories in this series and the Imp series. This book is actually the novel that introduced me to Debra Dunbar's writing. I am now addicted. The twists and turns are fun and enticing, leaving you wanting for the next in the series. I highly recommend this book.
