Sitting Bull lives on in legacy as a Native American chief who fought against white oppression. When the US government broke land treaties to seek gold in the Black Hills, Sitting Bull took a stand against the desecration of this sacred land. He led his people, the Hunkpapa Lakota, through a period of resistance amidst crisis.
He persisted through the end of the Great Sioux Wars, famously facing off against George Armstrong Custer in the 1876 Battle of the Little Bighorn. Though shot and killed in 1890, Sitting Bull's immortal spirit of resistance continues to inspire oppressed groups to this day.

I have listened to several of these titles and they continue to impress me. This work, as do others in the series serves as a taster for the subject matter given. The information contained in accurate and in just enough depth to give clear understanding of the topic. In that they are only about an hour long they are ideal for a lunch break or two
I would highly recommend these titles to anyone that has even a passing interest or simple curiosity about history

Most of my knowledge about Sitting Bull has been gathered from watching Western movies and TV shows (which I know are notoriously inaccurate). I knew that he was a fascinating man and this short narrative just gave me further proof of that. My one complaint about this book is that I would have preferred more about Sitting Bull and less about the movies/TV shows that portrayed this amazing warrior. I think that the time spent on the one chapter that was devoted to this could have been used to give more information about the true Sitting Bull.
The narrator was pretty good, but was a little monotone for my taste. I found myself having to "rewind" a few times because I wasn't listening due to his voice. Also, this book has the same problem that I find throughout the Western genre: the narrator should know how to pronounce "Cavalry" properly! This is one of my pet peeves in watching Western TV shows and movies.
