Publisher's summary

Hell Week has never been described so effectively. Six days in hell define every SEAL that moves past the point of no return in their minds. Robert Adams, MD, brings the experiences of his classmates into view with real, difficult to believe experiences, described in frightening detail by the men that lived through the frigid cold, filthy muddy days, and body-destroying events of a winter Hell Week. Eleven of 70 men went on to graduate and serve over 40 years in almost every SEAL or UDT team with honor. Listen to their real-time story, and learn why these 11 men succeeded when so many others failed.

Colonel Robert Adams, MD, MBA, served 14 years in the navy (12 as a SEAL) and 18 years in the army. He changed services to attend medical school and applies his analytical skill to look back at the men that shivered and struggled through Hell Week together. He brings decades of insight learned caring for others to an insightful analysis of why the men of his BUD/S class 81 achieved the improbable.

Six Days of Impossible

Just finished listening to “Six Days of Impossible” this past week and the book is outstanding!! In fact I liked it so much that I listened twice. As a former Naval Aviator, I have always known that the training to become a Navy Seal was unlike any other military training, but I had no idea just how difficult Hell Week really was. I’ve always greatly admired Navy Seals and knew they are a breed of men different from most men. This book absolutely confirms that belief and I would like to thank Dr. Adams for sharing his classes story. The story itself would have made for a great book, but the way the author structured the telling of the story by starting each chapter with a famous quote and by giving his insights as an MD into the physical and mental challenges he and his classmates were dealing with was spot on. One of the best books I’ve read/listened to in a long time. Bravo Zulu!!!

I did Six Days of Impossible

I tend not to read SEAL books (I read Mark Donald's Battle Ready; Memoir of a SEAL Warrior Medic because he is a friend and someone told me there were a few words in there that referenced me. It was a very good book) but I decided to read this one.. Thank you for taking me back in time and giving me an opportunity to feel proud, laugh and even experience a little anxiety while thinking back on my Hell Week.. I appreciate your contribution to "The Teams" and I hope some of my family takes the time to read your words. This book will give you the best glimpse into the misery of Hell Week. It is hard to put down on paper the cold and the discomfort. When you read this, remember that Hell Week comes at the beginning of training and that there are many more very difficult months to come after it ends. Also be reminded that Hell Week is just a means to eliminate and prepare guys for the real thing. Thank you Mr. Adams!

God’s Chosen Few

I knew the author early in his military career. We trained together to run marathons. The special energy he possessed was always present. It is no surprise that he never reached his personal limits during Hell Week. I fully expect another chapter in this remarkable patriots story.

Gritty and amazing.

One of the best books I've had the pleasure to hear!

Perkin's delivery is excellent. The book is so well written you can visualize the moments. 14 hours were more like 14 minutes. Immensely inspiring, brutal honesty, heartfelt sadness, your emotions and your inner self are awakened. Even if you're not close to qualifying, no matter what age, you will love this eye opening, thought provoking personal birds eye view into the goings on during SEAL BUDS "Hell Week". It's a truly enjoyable educational experience.

Outstanding story; Robotic Narration

The story was great, descriptive and intriguing but the narrator was a bit robotic. Happy with the read and thoroughly enjoyed it.
