About this listen

For more than twenty years, Kelsey Grammar played the brilliant but fussy psychiatrist Frasier Crane, first on Cheers, then on the wildly successful spinoff, Frasier. During those two decades, Grammer received 17 Emmy nominations, winning four as the psychiatrist-turned-radio host and another one for providing the voice of Sideshow Bob on yet another television classic, The Simpsons.

In So Far..., Grammar recounts his life and career in a frank and moving autobiography, covering his tragic family life—the murder of his father and sister and the deaths of his two half-brothers—as well as addictions to alcohol and drugs, that became public. And of course, Grammar discusses his association with three of the most beloved series of all time.

His confidence in his ability to act, and his willingness to express his doubts about who he was as a person. The way he finally looked at himself as being capable of finding the right woman in his life. We’re he didn't need to be in a relationship with anyone that was toxic and abusive. Also, he is a lot like the characters he performed on cheers, and Frazier.

How spiritual is was, and I loved the way he always knew that he was going to be a star.

My daughter and I while quarantining decided to watch old episodes of Cheers. It was a wonderful bonding experience laughing with my nineteen year old. We both loved the Fraser character the most. I discovered this book and thoroughly enjoyed it.
The ups and downs and twists and turns of his life and some similarities to my own made for a great journey. I was disappointed when it ended.
I highly recommend.

Great story of a fascinating man.

I must be one of the few feeling a bit sad after hearing Kelsey’s story. He had many ups and downs some not his fault but many were definately his fault. He went from beautiful woman to woman to woman…until he said he met the love of his life Tammi which clearly didn’t end well as he cheated on her with his next wife which he divorced and is married now to hopefully his last. I think it’s a bit sad to me since I’ve been happily married for almost 49 years and always am hoping others find my same happily ever after. Perhaps he’s found it now. He deserves it. We all do.
I will say his voice is absolutely mesmerizing and just so lovely to listen to. His writing is also superb. The listener really feels for him and wants him to find contentment and happiness after all he’s been through. He is truly a great talent and a stunning actor.

Having been a fan of Frasier, and Kelsey, it’s an insightful, intimate, and honest autobiography; and the fact that it’s read by Kelsey is absolutely delightful!

Insightful, intimate, and honest

Interesting story, love his voice and nothing like an actor to perform it! Just wished it was a longer story.

Joy to listen

Wish the book covered more of his career. It was inspirational for the number of tragedies in his life.
