Publisher's summary

Work with nature to consistently grow the highest quality produce—all while doing your part in fighting climate change and helping the environment.

Are you stressed out about…

The seemingly steady decline in both the quantity and quality of your crops?

“Technical farming problems” like soil erosion and biodiversity loss?

Climate change—how you can cope with it, and how you can be part of the solution rather than the problem?

If so, chances are you’re suffering from eco-anxiety…and unfortunately, you have good reason to do so.

According to the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), each year, an estimated 24 billion tons of fertile soil are lost due to erosion. That’s a whopping 3.4 tons lost every year for each person on the planet.

This is quite a serious issue, considering the fact that it takes approximately 500 years for a 2.5-centimeter layer of fertile topsoil to form under agricultural conditions—and our food security ultimately depends on soil quality. But the good news is there’s a way to reverse the damage…and you can be part of the solution…through regenerative agriculture! Regenerative agriculture has countless benefits—producing nutrient-dense food, combating climate change, enhancing ecosystem biodiversity, improving air and water quality, huge savings from higher yields, using fewer synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides… the list goes on and on!

Now, if it sounds like you’re going to need technical expertise to do this… don’t worry. Understanding your soil and giving it what it needs doesn’t have to be complicated. Start with this easy-to-listen guide filled with practical advice and information on how to improve your relationship with your soil and get the most out of it! Click "Add To Cart" Now.

It was okay

Some of the chapters were a chore to get through. The narrator needed to slow down at times, but that may be attributable to poor writing or the book just not translating well into audio form.

Some good info inside though. Probably better to digest it on paper than audio.

Loved learning about Regenerative Agriculture

The Soil Science book is amazing for anyone, like me, seeking to grow high-quality crops, combat climate change and contribute to environmental sustainability. This book addresses common farming concerns, such as declining cop quantity and quality, soil erosion, and biodiversity loss.

With a focus on regenerative agriculture, the book offers practical guidance on working with nature to reverse the damage caused by erosion and enhance soil health. It emphasizes the importance of understanding and providing your soil with the necessary care. Adopting regenerative practices can produce nutrient-dense food, improve ecosystem biodiversity, and reduce reliance on synthetic fertilizers and chemicals.

We recently bought a property and want to grow a lot of our food, but we have a lot of limestone in our ground, so I wanted to be sure I understood the health of the soil and the science behind it. So, whether you are an experienced farmer or just starting, this guide empowers you to positively impact the environment while growing healthier, more sustainable crops.

Let's help our planet together

If you want to improve your farming and gardening skills, grow the highest quality crop, and also do your part in caring for our environment and fighting climate change, you must listen to this book. It breaks down complex topics like erosion, composing, and biodiversity loss, into easy-to-understand concepts, which makes it accessible to anyone who wants to improve their relationship with soil, and eventually the Earth. I think it's true that many of us want to do something positive for the environment, but we think it's too hard. And recycling cans and bottles just doesn't feel enough (and it isn't enough). Well, after listening to this book, you will have a clear understanding of what you can do and even have an action plan ready for you.
The holistic approach to farming and gardening means working with nature, not against it, as we have been for the last few decades. It's now the time to start where we are and change and improve our practices. Whether you have a small garden, or a large farm, this book is for you.
